Note: I know many enthusiasts who did their homework know about Mission Ferrari, but I'm surprised at how little attention it's gotten among the general public, and there aren't many videos on it.

Keeping the tradition alive, and returning the Pride Month logo. Your annual reminder that no matter what your race, gender or orientation is, you are always welcome here. As always, I’m proud to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month. I’ve disabled comments on this post to avoid subjecting people to unwanted hate and hostility from others like these posts have gotten in years past. But I see and hear all of you. And I believe this message speaks for itself. 🏳‍🌈

Theme Park Crazy

Good evening, everyone.

Lately, I’ve gotten a few comments suggesting that my recent thumbnails and titles make it look like I’m covering big tragedies—even when no one was seriously hurt. I just want to clarify where I’m coming from.

Yes, I use bold language and visuals in my titles and thumbnails. However, I never intend to claim or imply something happened if it didn’t, and I try to be clear in the video itself when no one was seriously harmed. Just because an incident doesn't result in death or serious injury doesn't mean it isn't startling, frightening, or worth discussing. My thumbnails are meant to grab attention, but I feel that the incidents covered are still worthy of that attention. Falling into the water with dangerous machinery, a coaster crashing and closing forever on its opening day, and a ride that collapsed due to a catastrophic engineering failure. All of these are noteworthy, startling stories even without death or serious injuries.

Many other channels have discussed famous deadly accidents like Verruckt and the Minebender crash. So I aim to be a lighter alternative to those more tragic stories and cover relatively unknown subjects.

I cover these incidents not to scare people or stir up drama, but because they’re interesting, unusual, and rarely discussed. Even smaller accidents can teach us a lot about engineering, operations, and park history. I'm passionate about covering the constantly evolving history of this industry, and plenty of lessons can be still learned from even non-fatal incidents.

I do my best to walk that line between engagement and content carefully. I understand some may find my thumbnails and titles to be clickbaity, but I still aim to reflect how serious and important even non-fatal accidents can be. I understand I can't please everyone and I respect the opinions of every viewer. Thanks to everyone who watches and supports the channel!

Through a FOIA request with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (formerly the Reedy Creek Improvement District), I have obtained an accident report from 1998 involving the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I will be sharing the document on my Patreon ( www.patreon.com/themeparkcrazy ) and using it as the basis for an upcoming video. Here is what the report says:

________________

Tower of Terror
Disney-MGM Studios
900 Theater of the Stars Drive
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830

Reference: Accident on Ride Vehicle Lift # C

I was notified at 11:15 PM Sunday night,
September 13, 1998 by the Reedy
Creek Improvement District Fire Department dispatch that an accident
involving Ride Vehicle Lift # C had occurred injuring approximately seven
quests of the total of twenty guests onboard of Ride Vehicle Lift # C. All
seven guests were transported to the hospital. I asked if the lift was shut
down and was informed that it was. I instructed dispatch to have the
commander insure that the lift would remain shut down and I would have
the incident investigated in the morning.

Upon arriving at work on Monday morning, September 14, 1998, I
instructed Clark Godfrey to proceed to the Tower of Terror and investigate
the accident. Clark Godfrey informed me over the radio that my presence
would be required.

I arrived at the Tower of Terror and checked in with maintenance to gain
entry into the lift machine room. Upon viewing the Ride Vehicle Lift # C
damage, Clark and I concluded that two of the three bolts on the side
support for the sheave drum had failed causing the sheave drum to misalign
which in turn caused slack in the cables allowing Ride Vehicle Lift # C to
drop a short distance. The drop did not reach a velocity to activate the
sheave drum brake.

When Ride Vehicle Lift # C reached the end of the short drop, enough force was generated to break both cables, causing Ride
Vehicle Lift #C to drop again. The second drop was far enough to engage
the emergency brakes on Ride Vehicle Lift # C's guide tracks, causing the
lift to stop. All safety equipment on Ride Vehicle Lift # C functioned as
required, stopping Ride Vehicle Lift #C from a free fall and injury to the
guests.

Walt Disney Ride and Show engineers replaced all the bolts on the
remaining three Ride Vehicle Lift's sheave drum supports prior the Tower
of Terror opening to the public on Monday, September 15, 1998.
The cause of the bolt failures is not known at this time.

DEBATE: In my previous video, I discussed Cedar Fair's decision to remove the Sky Sling ride after Vertigo's collapse despite S&S finding the cause and offering a solution. Do you approve or disapprove of Cedar Fair's decision to remove the ride?

NOTE: I had to edit out the rope due to YouTube's sensitive content guidelines. Hopefully talking about the Ghost Host won't get the video demonetized.

Idea: Disturbing Disney Ride Moments. We all know about famous rides like Snow White's Adventures and the Haunted Mansion, but what about those moments that just come out of nowhere? That stand out from the rest of the ride. Feel free to suggest more below! Pictured: a removed frowning clown on It's A Small World, an old figure of Alice from Disneyland's Alice in Wonderland, mutilated knights from the original Discovery River Boats, Big Red from Kilimanjaro Safaris, and the Anglerfish from Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

One of my top comments on my recent video asked for more thrill ride videos. Well here's one. I've discussed this ride in a Top 10 list before, but it really deserves its own video. This is the S&S Sky Sling, a ride that is no longer in operation anywhere. Why? Because of an unfortunate collapse at Cedar Point during the off-season and maintenance issues. If anyone has more information about this ride they'd like to share, feel free to send me an email at themeparkcrazy1992@gmail.com !
