Ssssoooooooo… Part 2 is here!šŸŽ‰

When I first wrote the op-ed and the prayer, I hoped they would be published together—because I believe informed prayer is what the church needs right now: a faith that sees clearly and still chooses to hope boldly.

But maybe they each found the home they were meant for.

Part 1, the op-ed, was published in The Charlotte Observer.
And now, Part 2—the prayer—has been published by The Presbyterian Outlook.

It’s called A prayer for the church in the face of oppression.
It’s for those of us learning to kneel and rise, listen and move, weep and still believe.

You can read it here: pres-outlook.org/2025/04/a-prayer-for-the-church-i…

Ssssooooooooo, I did a thing…

A piece I wrote is being published in The Charlotte Observer, Raleigh News & Observer, and Durham Herald-Sun!

Here’s the twist—the article ended up being split between two publications. But listen…God knows exactly what He’s doing!

The first part—the article—is live in The Charlotte Observer now.

The second part—the prayer—will be published soon in another space. I’ll drop that link as soon as it’s up!

This journey started as a fire in my bones to name the agitators of oppression and call the Church to holy, courageous action. Now it’s out there for the world to read. And I’m just over here praising God for open doors and divine timing.

Thank y’all for walking with me. Your encouragement matters more than you know.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Today, I’m holding on to hope—not just because Jesus rose from the grave, but because His resurrection reminds me that nothing is too dead for God to revive.

There are places in my life where I’m asking God to breathe again… dreams that feel distant, prayers still unanswered, parts of my heart that need healing. But because Jesus lives, I know that resurrection power is still at work today.

If God could raise His Son from the dead, I believe He can restore, renew, and resurrect what feels lost in my own life. That’s the hope I’m holding onto today—with gratitude, faith, and expectation.

He is risen—and that changes everything.

After giving birth to the twins, my blood pressure was too high to go home.
The twins were discharged, but I wasn’t.
Instead of sending them home without me, the medical team helped care for them while I healed for a week—and while Donte cared for our other three kids.
They made sure I didn’t go home to die.

Black mamas deserve more than survival.
We deserve to thrive—with dignity, support, and sacred care.

I’ll never stop saying it.

Our mornings are filled with "keep the twins happy." Which means lots of outdoor time. My journey with Homeschooling multiple ages is a beautiful chaos—where interruptions turn into teachable moments and joy is found in learning together.

Started this with Benjamin (4.5) yesterday. This is the 3rd kid I've taught to read, and I'm definitely more confident and laid back.ā˜ŗļø

I used to stress about my ability to effectively homeschool my kiddos, but ultimately, it boils down to consistency, trusting God because he commissioned me to do it--therefore there's grace, AND allowing things to happen when it's time.

🄳Cheers to a new school year and refreshed perspectives.
