It is believed to be an earthly manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu, who incarnated as Tulsi to bless devotees. The festival also signifies the onset of the wedding season in many parts of India and is typically celebrated around the time of Kartik Purnima, a full moon in the Kartik month of the Hindu calendar.
In addition to its religious aspects, Tulsi Puja underscores the plant's medicinal and spiritual importance. Tulsi is known for its healing properties, making it an integral part of traditional Indian homes and daily rituals.
