Game Cam Wildlife

This channel is dedicated to game camera wildlife videos and photos. Most of my videos are shot on game cameras located on our suburban ten acre homestead in central Oklahoma. I began with one camera to view around my bee hives. That's when I discovered we had a really diverse population of wildlife and got to see them interact with each other. We have whitetail deer with several very nice bucks, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, raccoons, and also I get some amazing bird shots like the hawk after the squirrel that went viral on the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation site. Bucks growing their felt horns, does with their new fawns, bobcats hunting in pairs, foxes carrying their latest catch. Thanks for stopping in, enjoy.

Regarding my last short with the Otters. There were no Otters in Oklahoma until they were introduced in the mid-80's. This I did not know. I had never seen one in the wild. These otters in Newcastle are descendants of the ones released in SE Oklahoma in the mid 80's, and have migrated this direction. "The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) reintroduced North American river otters (Lontra canadensis) to eastern Oklahoma in 1984 and 1985. The otters were purchased from a private vendor in Louisiana for $400 each, and the ODWC implanted miniature radio transmitters in them to track their reintroduction. The reintroduction was part of an experiment to see how the otters would adapt to Oklahoma. As of October 2022, the otter population in Oklahoma is in good shape and is spread throughout the eastern half of the state, especially in the southeast region." I'm still hoping for a cougar some day.

Hello wildlife lovers. I have some cool news. A professional wildlife photographer, Ryan West, is working on a documentary on Oklahoma Wildlife and he has set up an SLR camera trap on the big log that you see in videos in the Log Cam or Log Cams play list. If you see a flash in the video I will try to post the shot captured in the video. This will be a really cool collaboration. Some of his shots he will be keeping for his project that I'll refer you to later when he publishes it. You can see his work on Instagram and Facebook under Going West Productrions. www.facebook.com/goingwestproductions & www.instagram.com/goingwestproductions/

Hi everyone, it's 15 deg right now this Saturday morning and snowing with lows tomorrow and Monday to be at or slightly below zero. Tomorrow is my normal SD card swap and battery check day, I don't think that will be happening. It's supposed to remain very cold the remainder of next week as well. Hope everyone is staying warm and having a great start to the new year.
