🚨 Partner Visa Applicants: Don’t Ignore Private Number Calls from Home Affairs

If you are waiting for your Subclass 309 or Subclass 820 Partner Visa, the Department of Home Affairs may contact you directly to help progress your application.

The call may be about:

✅ Requesting additional information
✅ Clarifying details in your application
✅ Progressing the assessment of your visa

Sometimes these calls can come from different processing offices and may appear as a private or unknown number.

But before sharing any personal information, always verify the caller.

You can ask them to confirm:

✔️ Your file number
✔️ Your visa application lodgement date

Genuine officers will not ask for:

❌ Credit card details
❌ Banking information
❌ ImmiAccount password
❌ Payment over the phone

Home Affairs also warns applicants to be careful of visa scams and says staff will never ask for passwords or credit card information. If you are unsure, don’t panic — verify the caller before continuing.

A genuine call may help your visa move forward, but a scam call can put your personal information at risk.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Verify before you share.

🚨 Australia Minimum Wage Increased from 1 July 2026 🇦🇺

Good news for millions of workers in Australia!

From 1 July 2026, the National Minimum Wage will increase to:

✅ $26.44 per hour
✅ $1,004.90 per week
✅ Based on a full-time 38-hour week

Modern award minimum wages will also increase by 4.75%.

This is important for many international students, migrants and workers employed in industries like:

✅ Hospitality
✅ Retail
✅ Cleaning
✅ Aged care
✅ Admin and support services
✅ Other award-based jobs

This increase can help with everyday living costs like rent, groceries, bills and transport.

But remember — your pay depends on your award, role, age, visa conditions, casual loading and working hours.

So from 1 July 2026, make sure you check your correct pay rate through Fair Work or speak to your employer.

Don’t ignore your payslip.
You deserve to be paid correctly in Australia.

🚨 Important Migration Updates from the Federal Budget

The latest Budget includes key migration changes that may affect student visa applicants, Working Holiday visa applicants, and people involved in migration court matters.

🎓 Student Visas
The government is increasing scrutiny of student visa applications — both onshore and offshore.

This may mean:
🔎 More checks on applications
📄 Greater document scrutiny
🌏 Stricter review of claims
📊 More focus on visa integrity

⚖️ Migration Court Matters
A new legal assistance pilot program is being introduced to help some applicants get legal advice before going to court.

This may help applicants understand whether they should:
✅ Proceed with the case
✅ Withdraw early
✅ Seek further legal advice

💰 Government Investment
The government is investing $167.4 million over four years to strengthen the migration system, improve court processes, upgrade technology, and support better enforcement.

💼 Working Holiday Visa Changes
The government is also planning changes to the Working Holiday Maker program, including expanding the use of visa ballots.

This means some applicants may need to be selected through a ballot before applying.

Overall, the message is clear: Australia’s migration system is becoming more selective, compliance-focused and integrity-focused.

🚨 Australia Budget 2026–27 Migration Update

The latest Federal Budget has revealed that Australia’s net overseas migration forecast has been revised UP compared to previous expectations.

This does not mean migration is increasing from the post-pandemic peak — it is still expected to fall — but it is now expected to fall slower than previously forecast.

📌 Updated migration forecast:

2025–26:
260,000 → 295,000

2026–27:
225,000 → 245,000

According to Budget reporting, this is mainly because:

• Fewer temporary migrants are leaving Australia
• More New Zealanders are moving to Australia
• Australia’s strong labour market continues to attract workers

At the same time, the government is keeping the Permanent Migration Program capped at 185,000 places, with more than 70% of places reserved for skilled migrants.

The focus is expected to be on:

✅ Younger applicants
✅ Higher-skilled workers
✅ Better-educated migrants
✅ People who can help fill long-term skill shortages

There is also a major focus on speeding up skills assessments and occupational licensing for migrant trades workers, especially in areas like:

🔧 Construction
⚡ Electrical trades

The government has announced $85.2 million to support faster skills assessments, which could help bring up to 4,000 extra skilled trades workers into the Australian workforce each year.

🏠 Another important update: the ban on temporary migrants buying established residential property is expected to be extended until 2029.

So, what does this mean for visa applicants?

Australia is still trying to manage migration numbers, but skilled migration remains a major priority — especially for applicants with the right age, skills, qualifications, English, and occupation demand.

Save this update and share it with someone planning their Australian visa journey.

⚠️ General information only. Always check official sources or speak with a registered migration professional before making visa decisions.

🚨 Big wage update in Australia — this could impact thousands of young workers 🇦🇺

Australia has introduced major changes to junior wages under the Retail, Fast Food, and Pharmacy Awards.

👉 What’s changing?
Young workers will now receive higher pay rates, with changes aimed at making wages more fair and aligned with adult rates.

👉 Who is affected?
• Retail workers 🛍️
• Fast food workers 🍔
• Pharmacy employees 💊
Especially those under 21 years of age

👉 Why this matters:
Earlier, junior employees were paid significantly lower just because of age.
These changes aim to reduce that gap and improve fairness at workplaces.

👉 What you should know:
• Employers must update pay rates as per new rules
• If you’re working part-time/casual in these sectors, your pay may increase
• Important for international students working in retail & hospitality jobs

This is a positive step towards fair pay and better work conditions in Australia.
