Betwixt: The Story of You

Have you ever been dismissed as “too emotional” when you were simply setting a boundary?

Why is it that white men often gain power and credibility from their anger, while women and people of colour get silenced, shamed or sidelined for the same emotion?

This video dives into the complex psychology of wrath, an emotion often labelled as dangerous or sinful. But is anger really the problem? Or is it how society chooses to react to it?

Betwixt: The Story of You

Why do we crave revenge? And what can ancient myths teach us about breaking free from cycles of wrath, resentment, and retaliation?

In this episode, we unravel the Greek myth of Orestes, a tragic hero hunted by the Furies for a righteous act of vengeance. What unfolds is a powerful metaphor for the psychology of anger — from its primal origins to its potential for transformation.

Featuring Jungian psychology, mythological storytelling, and modern neuroscience, this video dives into:

– Why revenge feels good but rarely brings peace
– The hidden function of wrath (and how it can backfire)
– How society treats anger differently based on race, gender, and identity
– What ancient myths and modern psychology say about healing from betrayal
– How to alchemise your anger into justice, clarity, and conscious power

Whether you're healing from a betrayal, reckoning with your own rage, or simply curious about how myth and mind intersect — this one’s for you.

👇 I want to hear from you:
Have you ever been told to “calm down” when you were standing up for yourself? How do you channel your anger? Drop your thoughts in the comments — I’d love to hear your story.

What do you binge on? Sugar, shopping, exercise, or endless scrolling? 📱

In this video, I explore the ancient myth of Tantalus through the lens of Jungian psychology to uncover what gluttony really means and why our cravings often point to something deeper than the thing we’re reaching for.

You’ll learn:

-How to reframe “bad habits” as signals, not sins
-The Existential Escape Hypothesis: why emptiness drives excess
-Practical prompts to explore what you truly hunger for

Whether you struggle with bingeing, burnout, or the sense of never being “enough,” this one’s for you.

What if your envy could lead you to the parts of yourself you've forgotten?

We’re exploring the painful (but strangely empowering) emotion of envy, using the tale of Snow White and the Evil Queen as a map for self-awareness, shadow work, and personal growth.

If you’ve ever struggled with comparison, jealousy, or the fear that you’re not enough, you are not alone.

Is lust really a “deadly sin”? Of course not. But it gets treated as one in certain situations, and when exhibited by certain types of people.

Join me to explore the psychology and mythology of lust in this video, and please let me know your thoughts in the comments 🖤

What does lust really mean, and what can Medusa teach us about it? ✨

We’re unpacking the myth of Medusa to explore the complex nature of lust (one of the so-called seven deadly sins) through the lens of Jungian psychology, feminine archetypes, and the shadow self.

If you’re fascinated by mythology, mental health, and the ways storytelling helps us grow, this one’s for you.

Betwixt: The Story of You

This is the psychology (and mythology) of greed and the *terrifying* ways privilege reshapes the brain.

In this deep-dive, we unpack greed through the ancient myth of King Midas. It’s the second episode in a transformative series exploring the Seven Deadly Sins — not as moral failings, but as misunderstood aspects of the self.

Drawing from Jungian psychology, cutting-edge psychological research, and the rich symbolism of myth, we ask: What if your hunger for more is actually a signal? And what if the treasure you’re seeking isn’t gold, but meaning, connection, and self-worth?

🔍 Topics covered:

-The psychological roots of greed (and how it can be adaptive)
-The hidden cost of wealth, power, and privilege
-Rigged Monopoly, real-life entitlement, and the neuroscience of empathy
-The Midas Touch as a metaphor for spiritual poverty
-The difference between your Real Self and your Ideal Self
-Why craving status may be disconnecting you from your soul

✨ Featuring insights from:

-Dr Anna Machin (Oxford evolutionary anthropologist)
-Professor Paul Piff (UC Irvine, behavioural science)
-Jungian archetypes and the Hero’s Journey

If you’ve ever caught yourself chasing money, beauty, influence or success, only to feel more disconnected than before… this one’s for you.

Deadly sin no.1 — pride, explored through the myth of Narcissus and Echo 💔

This is one of my favourite stories and its meaning is such a wonder.

Is pride actually a good thing? 🌈

Growing up, we’re told to be proud of ourselves and our achievements. The word is also linked to important and positive causes, like:

🏳️‍🌈Gay Pride
✊Black Pride
🌻Disability Pride

Yet it’s also one of the seven deadly sins, associated with ego and arrogance. So how do we choose the good version of pride and use it to be better at self-love? 💜

Firstly, understand that there are two types of pride. There’s hubristic pride, which means believing you’re better than everyone else and that you matter more than they do.

Then, there’s authentic pride, which is less about others and more about our own growth and our pursuit of improving at something or doing the right thing. This type of pride is important for self-esteem and helps us appreciate ourselves and the people around us.

We can bring pride out of the shadow by reflecting on our thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and resisting the urge to sweep any signs of hubris under the carpet.

We need to own the things we feel proud of, while acknowledging the help we’ve had along the way. Failing to recognise our privilege, we risk inflating our own self-image to the point where it becomes a problem.

I’ll be exploring the other deadly sins from a psychological lens, so hit the follow button for more inspiration and opportunities for self-reflection 💡
