Nothing better than coming home after a long trip in the field and checking through the photos, doing some preliminary edits to see if there is anything there. Jordan is an amazing place. Friendly people and fantastic culture and history. Hopefully I got some good shots out of it too...

So, I managed to get my myself shadow banned. It all comes back to the Epidemic sound debacle. What a headache they have caused. If you don't know, Epidemic Sound will demonetize your video if you quit the subscription. I thought I could just re-upload the video with a new soundtrack and some improved voiceover. However that gets you shadow banned. You tube will recognize the similarities between the uploads and not promote the new video at all, and if you upload a few they will throttle the whole channel. It should clear up after a month I have been told.
But, stay away from Epidemic Sound.
Also check out this old re-edited and re-uploaded video. One of my first videos that also got a ton of views, over 40K, but got claimed by Epidemic Sound.
Anyway, new video dropping later today. More film photography with the Mamiya 6.

If you’ve ever wondered what I do for a day job, I actually run another YouTube channel focused on Photoscanning and Unreal Engine. Whenever I’m out photographing, I often take the opportunity to scan environments — some of which later end up being used in movies or video games.
Check it out! It’s a bit more technical than photography, but hey, I still get to use cameras at least!

Currently editing my Varanasi film photography video that also got claimed by Epidemic sound. I decided I should do a bit of a remix and focus more on the film photography aspect and try to improve a few things. It has been fun revisiting an old project and I realize that pocket video cameras has improved a lot in just a few short years.

Hello, a heads up that I'm going to republish a handful of my old videos soon. The reason is that the first version used music licensed through Epidemic Sound, but because I’m no longer a subscriber they claimed the entire video, even though it was my own work.
When you subscribe to Epidemic sound you are free to download and use any song in your YouTube videos. When you are no longer subscribed you can't download anymore and you can't use the songs that you have downloaded. Sounds fait doesn't it. However what I only found out after I got monetized on YouTube is that the videos I made when I had the subscription gets claimed by Epidemic Sound. It's only half a dozen videos for me but I can imagine a creator getting his whole channel stolen unless he continues the subscription.
Another hidden danger is that the songs are not clearly labeled Epidemic Sound in my music library, which makes it super hard to know if I'm using their music. Solution is to delete most of my music library and start again...
I’ve replaced the soundtrack and wanted to share this experience as a warning to other creators: be cautious with music services that require an active subscription.

New video out. I'm putting the Mamiya 6 to the test in the rivers of Sweden. Not as easy as I thought but it was a lot of fun paddling and wild camping in Sweden. As it always is.

Back from an epic hike in the Balkans. Camping out in the mountains. What a place that is. When I came home I started to devolop the Mamiya 6 images from the Norway roadtrip. Kodak Tri-X and one roll of Ilford HP5+ developed in D-76 and they came out nicely. Here are some samples. New video in the works. See you soon...
