I dunno how many former/(current?) band geeks I have in my audience, and certainly an even smaller slice have ever played this particular Ralph Ford piece, but in 2003, I remarked that this piece had a "weirdly filthy" bass line and now 22 years later I'm making use of it. me, at closing weekend at Alta, after tormenting my friend who is newish to skiing the entire way down a tough run by singing Once Upon a Time from Brooklyn the Musical to him: "I believed again the moment when I saw you here tonight! It's a fairly common complaint on YouTube that a creator you're subscribed to isn't getting their videos shown to you -- which definitely happens on the Home feed on desktop and in the YouTube app all the time. That said, there's a quick and easy remedy to this that I think viewers frequently forget about the existence of: the Subscriptions tab. It's at the bottom of the screen on the app and in the sidebar on Desktop and I think on TVs. If you go to the Subscriptions feed, you will see *everything* the creators you are subscribed to have posted, in chronological order. :)

Wanted to say a few things and also gauge interest on a concept:
1. Would you be interested in a video where I tell you exactly how much a few videos have made, or would that be awkward for you? A lot of times I think it's unclear what a YouTuber earns from AdSense and wasn't sure if that would be interesting to you. I'm not guaranteeing I'll do it but I was thinking about it.
2. I never say this in my videos even though I always mean to, I'm on Instagram and Threads at mackkozelka...I don't use Twitter for obvious reasons.
3. Music is on Apple Music/Spotify/etc., but Liar Liar isn't released there, I might do that soon. As a musician I go by Millimeters of Mercury and the two tracks I have released on streaming are the nu-jazz experiment Haiku D'etat and the instrumental rock track Sierra Nevada (because the Rockies don't inspire me I guess 🤪)

Thank you so much everybody for watching and supporting, it means the world to me, the past two videos are by far my best-performing of all time and it's made me very happy because I worked very hard on them. I know that my upload pace has slowed a bit but I hope it shows that the reason is a result of my effort to be more selective in having a great topic and ensuring I'm putting out videos of quality that I am proud of and that you deserve as a viewer. 😘 I do not now, nor will I ever use any type of generative AI in my creation process so sometimes it takes me a while to write when I do a script. 😉

HELLO! I wanted to provide some updates:
I've been working on a couple of scripted videos.

One is finally the video about Theranos and what my thoughts about it during my time in pharmacy school were and what the broader implications are.

The other is going to be a bit of a gloves-off callout of sponsorships from BetterHelp and a discussion of why I do not take sponsorships. I've been nervous about this one and so I'm being careful in crafting my wording. This is going to be the video that comes out first, and I'm looking to have that out by the end of the week.

As a Utahn, I feel I need to make a PSA: There's a solar eclipse in a couple of weeks, with the path going over Utah among other states. It is *not a total solar eclipse. It is an annular solar eclipse,* meaning the Moon will be too small in the sky to completely block the Sun. I wouild *NOT* recommend traveling for it; you are very likely to be disappointed, because, like a partial solar eclipse, it is never safe to observe directly without eclipse glasses, nor will the stars come out, nor will the corona of the Sun be visible at any point. It's *definitely* not worth fighting a bunch of other tourists in Bryce Canyon or Canyonlands over. It's a "kind of neat" thing at best; it's not the mind-blowing craziest thing you've ever seen in your entire life thing that a total eclipse *in the path of totality* is. There's a reason the song is not called Annular Eclipse of the Heart. tl;dr don't travel for a partial or annular eclipse, it's not worth it.
