I want to share a heartfelt message for my mother, Srimati Sohadra Devi Ji (Smriti Shastra Devi Dasi), who has returned to Lord Krishna.
She was a wonderful devotee who taught us from childhood to be grateful to the Lord and to serve Him with love. She was my first guide—teaching me to worship Hanuman Ji and later taking me to Vraja Bhumi for Parikrama of Giriraj Govardhan, Vrindavan, and Barsana.
She was so happy when I joined ISKCON, where she also took initiation from HH Loknath Swami Maharaj. While she was healthy, she chanted 32 rounds of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra every day. She loved singing Vraja Bhajans, but in her last days, she told me: "Please sing only the Hare Krishna Mahamantra."
I offer my sincere obeisances at her feet for everything she gave us. She was so satisfied to see all five of her children following the path of devotion. She truly perfected her life, and I pray that Lord Krishna and Srimati Radharani accept her into Their eternal service.
I love you, Maa. Thank you for everything.
