Jenny White: ESL Games and Teaching Tips

I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.

Haim Ginott

So true. This burden of responsibility sometimes makes me feel frustrated. In fact, the WHOLE LIFE of a child depends on my decisions.

But I am just a teacher. But have to carry the responsibility of a god.

It's such a headache for me to make thumbnails for my videos! 😧 😬 I always doubt if I have chosen the right image to attract my audience. The last video had one thumnail but then I changed it to another one. And now AGAIN I feel uncertain about my choice πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… What do you think? Which one is better: first or second? πŸ˜‰

Jenny White: ESL Games and Teaching Tips

Dear friends and colleagues, I need your advice. I am working on a course for ESL teachers "How to Teach Irregular Verbs to School Children". The course will offer strategies for using games on 3 levels: teaching pronunciation and meaning, teaching spelling, teaching how to use irregular verbs on a sentence level.

Which format of learning would you prefer? Please, comment with a number - 1, 2, 3, 4

1. An online couse that allows you to study any time suitable for you (with homework, assignments and final project - your own game).

2. Live webinars at fixed dates for a large group of students (I will share my experience and answer your questions).

3. Access to a complete video course + 1 personal meeting in Zoom or Skype to discuss any questions you have.

4. E-book with detailed instructions and case studies from real classrooms + 3 reviews of your lesson plans (by e-mail) .

Thank you in advance! πŸ™
