Today marks ten years since the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, where 49 beautiful souls were taken from this world during what should have been a night of joy, friendship, music, and celebration.
Ten years later, we pause.
We remember the lives lost.
We honor the survivors who continue to carry the weight of that night.
We hold in prayer the families, friends, first responders, and an entire community forever impacted by this tragedy.
For many in the LGBTQIA+ community, Pulse was more than a nightclub. It was a sanctuary. A place where people could gather, laugh, dance, love, and be fully themselves.
The events of that night shook us deeply, but they did not destroy us.
Instead, they revealed the strength, resilience, and compassion that exist within our community. In the face of hatred, we chose love. In the face of fear, we chose courage. In the face of unimaginable loss, we chose to keep showing up for one another.
As we remember the 49 lives taken, may we also recommit ourselves to creating a world where every person can live openly, authentically, and safely.
Today, we speak their names in our hearts.
Today, we honor their memory.
Today, we remember that love is stronger than hate.
Loving yourself first is not arrogance. It is not selfishness. It is the foundation from which all healthy love grows.
How can we genuinely pour love into others if we are emotionally empty ourselves? How can we offer compassion, grace, patience, and understanding if we refuse to give those same things to our own spirit first?
Self-love teaches us our worth. It teaches us boundaries. It teaches us healing. And from that place⦠we become capable of loving others more authentically and more deeply.
No matter your background, beliefs, age, gender, or journey in life⦠you deserve love, especially from yourself first. š
This Motherās Day, I cannot shower my mom with gifts or take her to the movies the way I once could, because she is no longer with us in the physical. So today, I honor her with this small tribute⦠and with a heart full of gratitude.
Thank you, Mom, for seeing greatness in me long before I was able to see it within myself. Thank you for your strength⦠your independence⦠and for being both mother and father when life required it of you.
Thank you for sacrificing, enduring, and pushing through your own storms so that my brother and I could become strong men⦠even during seasons when your own life may not have felt easy.
This collage is a reminder that love does not end with physical absence. It reminds me that you are more than what my eyes can no longer see. You are spirit⦠memory⦠wisdom⦠love⦠and energy that still surrounds me every single day.
Our bond transcends the physical. And for that reason, I know your love is still with me.
Happy Motherās Day, Mom. I love you⦠always. ā¤ļø
So much of life is spent responding to the outside world⦠meeting expectations⦠carrying responsibilities⦠and pushing through moments we never imagined we would survive.
But healing begins the moment we pause long enough to look within.
Self-awareness is not about judging yourself⦠it is about becoming honest with yourself. It is about learning your emotions⦠understanding your triggers⦠and recognizing the strength that has carried you through every season.
Give yourself grace for how far youāve come. Honor the version of you that kept going⦠even when life became heavy.
Today, choose to slow down. Choose to listen inwardly. Choose to become more intentional with your peace.
One of the hardest things to accept in life is that growth rarely feels comfortable.
There are moments when progress looks like uncertainty. Moments when learning feels like failure. Moments when the path forward feels slower than expected.
But every challenge carries an invitation: to become stronger⦠wiser⦠more grounded⦠and more aligned with who you are becoming.
Do not let fear keep you standing still. Do not let temporary setbacks convince you that you are incapable.
Keep showing up. Keep breathing through the process. Keep trusting your growth.
Because avoiding failure often means avoiding the very lessons meant to transform you.
And sometimes⦠the bridge between where you are and where you are becoming⦠is simply the courage to keep moving forward.
Six years ago, in a moment I didnāt fully understand, I said yes to something that would change my lifeāand hopefully touch yours too.
What started as a response to one of the most challenging seasons of my life⦠became a space for healing, growth, and connection.
And now, six years laterāweāre still here. Still showing up. Still growing. Still healing.
On May 1, 2026 at 7:00 AM (EST), I invite you to join me for a special 6th Anniversary Guided Meditationāa moment to honor the journey and embrace whatās ahead.
This meditation will be pre-recorded and available on YouTube and Instagram, so no matter where you are, you can tap in, reflect, and reset with intention.
Thank you for being part of this journey. This is only the beginning. š«
