Hello Future Me

8 years today. Back when I was editing on a free video editor, filming on a $150 camera whilst living with my parents, making thumbnails on powerpoint, using a broken tripod by now late grandfather gave me, terrified anyone would hear me recording, so I waited till I was alone, and set up to make my first Avatar video.

My videos have been used to train AI. My voice has been used to train AI. My face has been used to train AI. Now my books have been used to train AI. My whole identity is being monetised without my permission. Great.

Recently, a report came out that the Meta AI has used a library of pirated books to train their AI, including mine. Let's be clear: the whole reason companies are doing this as quickly as they can is so the law can't catch up. The faster they do as much damage as possible the harder it'll be to do anything about it. The aim of these companies is to be all consuming. To create AIs which do everything, are everything, dominate every corner of human expression and monopolise it.
