I am a beginning voice and piano student of the Singeo 🎤 and Pianote 🎹 programs, just having fun😊, and I'll be posting about my music journey here, and maybe some other stuff. It's cool to have the first few videos to mark where I'm starting and see how much I learn and improve. I'm so excited!! 😁❤️

I'm posting this to show a fellow student how I mark lyrics to show where to breathe (blue lines), and how I don't always follow the flow of lyrics the way someone else has them written -- I do it the way it makes sense to me. Also, when I don't have enough breath to sing a phrase all the way through, sometimes I'll cut out a word that isn't necessary to the meaning of the line, to give myself a spot to take a breath. Artists often record line by line and leave out the breaths in the recording, or have background vocals that intersect with the main melody -- so you have to choose what you're going to sing and how you want to go about it. I like to look at live performances to take notes of where the artists breathe and what they choose to sing during harmonies and ad libs.
I also put little marks to remind myself how many beats to hold or rest, where the pitch is going up or down or staying the same, stuff like that.
I haven't recorded this song yet, still working it out, so I may still make changes to these notes here.

Jacob Collier just posted this 8-minute version of him recording Tori Kelly’s runs for Bridge Over Troubled Water!!! 😍😍😍 This would’ve been so helpful for me last week when I recorded me trying to sing this, to hear his and her vocals isolated like this. I did practice with the shorter 1-1/2 min reel he posted on Insta to help me hear the notes better.

Today I received my first very official Certificate for participating in this year’s Summer Recital at Musora 😁, which I submitted for only a week after I started the programs. So it really marks the beginning of my music education. I actually am kinda proud of myself, because I’m showing myself *and* I’m showing myself singing! 🎤😮🎶 to the (I’m guessing) hundreds of people that are my fellow classmates and teachers.
