Hello everyone. So it's almost winter here in the southern hemisphere, and it's getting quite cold. I had more time on my hands to lift my game on the overwintering of the cool stuff. Happy gardening to you all, and thank you for your support and interest over the years, my friends.

My friend Micheal took a full tour of my garden yesterday and made a video.
You might know him from the Oz Rare fruit page on FB. Check it out and his other videos.
Cheers

Just noticed a native spider munching on a Fruit Fly. Spiders and Frogs are integral partners in the management of pest insects.

I was losing one Avocado per night even though they were immature fruit and I had to bag them, I set up a trail cam and the culprit is a rat! A heads up that rats like Avos even when unripe!

Hello again.
Just sharing this little Mandarin from "The Citrus Men" called "Citrus Bubba" which I placed along the narrow bed next to driveway for 3 reasons.
1-It's compact size
2-warmth from the concrete
3-little human access before school next year!
The tree is 40cm high and packed with viable fruitlets which I'm not going to remove as the tree looks so strong and capable.
Ping pong sized sweet, seedless fruit apparently.
Highly recommend "Citrus Bubba" for Victoria or other cool temperate zones.
Thanks 👍

Today in Melbourne, Australia I will be planting these two North American Paw Paws! Hard to source here.
Named varieties, "Pennsylvania Gold" and a local named variety "Louis Glowinski 1" named after a rare fruit pioneer here.
Hail forecast in 2 days so need to be quick building a shade cover. Wish me luck!
