Ofcourse there are frustrations, and small-mindedness coming from those who feel stuck but optimism is about believing that even a bumpy road is leading you to somewhere amazing. Having grit and enjoying the process - that’s when true progress happens.

I strongly believe I am in the right place, right time, doing the right thing. I wouldn’t feel like this being in any place other than India. So proud to belong here.

It takes 20 years to build your reputation and only 5 minutes to lose it. If you always keep that in mind you’ll do things differently. I love this quote from Warren Buffet. In a world where several people preach - you shouldn’t care about what other people think of you, I’m seriously wary of that advice.

Whether in business or in personal life, opportunities often come to you because of what people think of you. It is important to build and safeguard your reputation because it directly impacts your chances of moving ahead at work and in life. Reputation is so closely interwoven with integrity. Integrity to say what you’re going to do and then do what you say. That’s what creates a favourable impression. And if you do that consistently, then you have successfully built a positive reputation of a trustworthy and competent person.

Not only do we have to worry about how we present ourselves in person, but also bear in mind that our social media posts are a reflection of our inner minds. And although it’s a free-for-all platform, what you post, the impression you create and how you are perceived comes a cost. So if you want to attract better opportunities and have a greater degree of influence in your professional and personal life, here are 5 things I suggest you do -

1. Be transparent but be deliberate. By that I mean, be authentic but be mindful of what you are saying or doing. Be conscious of your words and your actions.

2. Be honest in your communication. This is the very backbone of trust. Both your reputation and credibility will grow if you remain dead honest in your communication. Being caught out in a lie mars relationships badly.

3. Demonstrate solid character. Even in adverse times, remain steadfast in your decision to do what’s right, not what’s easy or wrongfully beneficial.

4. Watch your body language. Unspoken cues have a strong impact on how people perceive you so don’t appear superfluous (aka floozy and flaky).

5. Take responsibility. Be humble and admit mistakes when they happen. Explicitly say the word “sorry”. Holding yourself accountable and taking responsibility is a huge act of integrity and can increase your reputation more than the error can harm it.

Confidence is feeling sure of yourself and your abilities. Having confidence doesn’t make you arrogant or cocky, but it’s more a feeling that you can rely on your skills and strengths to handle whatever challenge comes your way. And even if you feel unsure and slightly fearful, having the gumption to take a stab at the task at hand and giving it a try.
It’s sounds easy when people say “believe in yourself” but it’s not always that straightforward to feel this way. If you are low on confidence, you may be less willing to try new things, reach out to new people and even less likely to try again, something that you have failed at once.
But believe me when I tell you, real confidence comes from 2 things
- from your circle of people who encourage you, praise you and applaud you to try new things or express your thoughts. Treasure these people who recognise your strengths and boost your confidence. Keep them close.
- Believe in your capabilities and use your skills and talents. Put your thoughts into action. Cast away your fears and feelings of self-doubt. Upgrade your skills and talent by investing in learning about new things and giving yourself the opportunity to stand apart.
May your confidence help you to move forward to discover and develop your capabilities. Because when you see what you are capable of and take pride in your own achievements, your confidence will get even stronger. Sending you much love and strength to see the magic within you 💚
