In thanks for 555k subscribers, here’s Mickey Thompson’s 555 streamliner! This car was powered by two Chrysler Hemis and went 294 mph at Bonneville in 1958 to make it the fastest American car at that time.

Commenters on the latest video keep advising me that the pinion angle on my Chevelle is a disaster. FYI, that’s what it does at full droop with the stock four link. It’s not like that at ride height.

A 540 stroker for 540k subs! The 540ci displacement can be achieved in blocks from several engines families when aftermarket blocks are available, but the Chevy Rat is the most common. The reason the 540 typically demands an aftermarket block is that the 4.500 bore is larger than what can be found in OE blocks. A 4.250 stroke rounds out the displacement math.
