A rider who needs to get to a job interview.
A builder trying to feed a child.
A watcher who sees everythingābut does nothing.
When the system breaks, their stories collide.
No one is outside it.
Everyone is part of it.ā
This is the new musical Iām working on: Who Rides on Burning Trains?
The idea started through conversations with my brother, who works on solving transport challengesāespecially around getting trains up and running again for both people and cargo.
It made me think about how much we rely on these systemsā¦ and how visible everything becomes when they stop working.
Who is affected first?
Who carries the weight when things break down?
And who is actually involved in keeping things moving?
Thatās what this piece is exploring.
Itās still in progressāIām building it through music, movement, and a lot of experimentation. Iām especially interested in using the body to create movement and rhythm on stageāsomething that feels like a system in motion.
