Just a quick word of encouragement to ponder on.

Part of the church’s mission is to train and equip believers so that they are prepared when God sends them out on His mission to establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10) and expand His domain in every area (Revelation 11:15).

I know that most of us live very busy lives but, as believers in Jesus, let’s remember what His priorities are: His Father’s business (Luke 2:49).
And the major part of His Father’s work revolved around people.

So, this week, let’s be intentional about deliberately connecting with like-minded people, that will help us grow in our knowledge and understanding of the Lord, as this is a major part of our training and equipping.

Let’s prioritize what God prioritize!

There are moments when God's way will seem so difficult, so prolonged and so unrewarded, while our idea will seem much easier, much quicker and so much more enjoyable. But it is only an illusion. Looking back, we will find that God's plan is so much better than ours. There will never be an exception to this rule, so we might as well just decide from now on to yield to the Lord's will, do it His way and wait for God's best.

If you believe that God is calling you to do something for Him, and you want to fulfil it…




This is some of the common advice that people give:

→ Obey God immediately and just go out and do it by faith
→ Share what God has told you with spiritual leaders like pastors, elders, etc and ask for their input and advice
→ Fulfil the calling immediately because if you wait, you’re being disobedient to God
→ Plant a seed (money) of faith to see the manifestation of the assigned calling
→ Align yourself with others with similar callings, but are already successful and sow into them by serving them, so that the same favour of God or anointing that rests on them come upon you, and you’ll enjoy the same success
→ Tell others so they can sow into your calling and help make it happen



This is the path for the person who wants speed, action and immediate results as a sign that God has called them and they have His blessing and favour.


But most people don’t want the burn-out and love for and reliance on other things this path leads to (Proverbs 14:12 & Proverbs 16:25)


The “fast-track” path lacks understanding and the knowledge of God and His ways (Proverbs 9:10 & Hosea 4:6) because the focus is on the wrong thing; speed and taking action immediately.


Most believers want to fulfil God’s purpose without bringing a reproach on the gospel of Jesus.

So, if you want to fulfil God’s purpose and assignment successfully, these are my suggestions when you sense God’s call to do something:
1. Obey God immediately by saying yes to the call, because you trust that He has your best interest at heart (Jeremiah 29:11).
2. Don’t run to others and seek their advice or see what others are doing and try and copy that (Galatians 1:15-17).
3. Don’t assume that you know what to do and just act without asking God what to do next (Joshua 9:14).
4. Instead ask God what to do next and actually wait for His instructions before you act (1 Samuel 30:8-9).
5. Write down God’s instructions so you can refer back to it continuously as you implement it (Habakkuk 2:2).
6. Be open and flexible to God to change direction as He shifts gears (Isaiah 43:19).
7. When you encounter a blockage, hinderance, resistance, etc. ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) to know if these things are being caused by you carrying unnecessary weights or if it’s sin that you need to lay aside so that you can continue to run the race set before you, with endurance (Hebrews 12:1-2).


Following the popular advice, although it sounds good and even logical, it will lead you to lean on the arm of flesh (Jeremiah 17:5).



Always be aware that your work is about fulfilling Jesus’ prayer of bringing about God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10) to ultimately make the kingdoms of this world the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15).
