BNSF SD70MAc passenger special at Alamosa 7/31/26

These are just stored pieces of equipment. Plus, there was a N&W coach, but I’ll post that later next week.

I can’t describe what it felt like being at the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad for the first time. I thought I missed all the end of day operations, but thankfully, 489 was switching and it had a caboose. I can’t even believe that I took these photos! Today was a really long day, and I want to thank my family for making it happen.

I’ll be at Antonito tomorrow to see D&RG 168 and DRGW 463 tomorrow.

Episode 55 is more than 70% done, and I just need one more voice actor to turn in their lines. The episode should be out on August 10th to coincide 3 years since the beginning of my high school senior year. It will premiere on a Monday, which may sound unusual.

After this episode is out of the way, progress should begin on 3 remastered episodes, including the cancelled ATSF 3751 and 2926 doubleheader episode (should be out early for Labor Day weekend), Chased by the Thing (to be released in early October), and Danny & Logan Gets Spooked (to be released in early October). While the ATSF Northern episode will retain 2023 footage with only a few clips refilmed, the last two episodes mentioned will have new plots to replace the outdated plots in the original episodes, as they were deemed awkward and dramatized.

If everything goes to plan, I’m actually going to the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad for a short time on July 31st and August 1st! This will be the first time I’ll ever visit a narrow gauge railroad I’ve been wishing to visit for years.

On July 31st, I plan on seeing the passenger train returning to Chama, New Mexico and turning around after the day’s over. This train will be powered by a K-36 locomotive, but whichever one will be is unknown until I get there. Might likely be 487 or 489.

Also, D&RGW C-18 315, many K-36 and K-37 steam engines will be photographed if according well to the plan. Tons of rolling stock to see as well that I’ll photograph.

I will also be seeing the Centennial State Limited pulled by D&RGW T-12 168 K-27 463 at Antonito on August 1st. Hopefully, I get to see DL-535 114 in the America 250 paint scheme.

It may not be a lot, but to me, there is a lot more than just the D&RGW narrow gauge outside of the C&TSRR. Maybe some abandoned standard gauge diesel locomotives? (Don’t know if I’ll see them yet, but putting this just in case. Don’t worry, no trespassing will be done)

Note; Photos below showcase both Colorado narrow gauge cars. Stock car 5672 is from the D&RGW, being represented as a D&RG car in the early 20th century. NCNGRR 142 is an ex Florence & Cripple Creek boxcar, later sent to the NCO and SPNG railroads. Although not a NCNG car when the NCNGRR was in revenue service, many similar F&CC boxcars that were sold to the NCO later found their way to the NCNGRR.

Special trip announcement!

From July 31st through August 1st, I’ll be going out of state to visit a tourist railroad that I’ve been wishing to go far years. Location and plans will be revealed, along with what engines I might see this Monday. Thanks to my family for making arrangements, plans, and the investments for this short trip!

One of the biggest issues with Bachmann’s GS-4 locomotives are the cracked gears, and unfortunately, my GS-4 is the victim from one of the cracked gears. And I can’t unscrew the pilot truck and the other screw near the front truck as they’re both screwed too tight. (Any tips will help)

This means GS-4 4446 is now out of service indefinitely. I’m glad I didn’t spend too much money on this engine, otherwise I would’ve stop acquiring any Bachmann locomotives after this.

Work has started on episode 55, and release date of the episode should be around August 10 - 15. I just need a few more lines from other voice actors, but other than that, editing should be straightforward mostly.

Additionally, there’s also a ATSF 3751 and 2926 doubleheader episode that was abandoned in Autumn of 2023. Since there are new voice actors and the interest of having steam excursion stars for the series has become apparent, I decided that this episode should be rereleased sometime in September or early October. Voice actors for 3751 and 2926 have been given already.
