Plans are set for my next Bloodlines 2 series. It will be an immersive, no commentary, minimally edited playthrough. In an effort to mix things up, I wanted to put it to a poll on which clan I should play next.

Paradox finally admitting they’re own failure.

“We’ve had high expectations for a long time, since we saw that it was a good game with a strong IP in a genre with a broad appeal. A month after release we can sadly see that sales do not match our projections, which necessitates the write-down. The responsibility lies fully with us as the publisher. The game is outside of our core areas, in hindsight it is clear that this has made it difficult for us to gauge sales. Going forward, we focus our capital to our core segments and, at the same time, we’ll evaluate how we best develop World of Darkness’ strong brand catalogue in the future.”

There's one more video to go in my Bloodlines 2 blind playthrough series. It has been a truly odd experience full of frustration, anger, fun, and stunning moments. I'm looking forward to sharing my review with you all.

In between editing I've already completed a full Elder Tremere run which went by super quick.

My next Bloodlines 2 series will be focused more on completing a certain ending as well as strats I've used to help forward progress a bit more efficiently. Also I will cut out all of Fabien's memories and will focus entirely on the Nomad.

I've currently started working on my review of Bloodlines 2 and have a helluva outline. Once I've fully completed the game I will start on the video review of it. I'm not sure how long it will be but I have quite a bit to say. I'm still chugging along in my first playthrough though and my goal is to have the run complete and done by 11/17 at the latest. My question to you all is, how many playthroughs have you done so far and with what clans? (No spoilers please)

Just a heads up that I have another Bloodlines 2 video lined up for release tomorrow but won't be releasing more vids until 11/10 or 11/11. I'm heading out of town for the weekend for work. Still super excited to continue the adventure and mystery though. See you all next week!

So Bloodlines 2... The latest patch 1.0.2 has completely borked the save game files again just like 1.0.1 did. I was able to recover from that patch and get my files back.

I've now spent an hour locating files, moving files, starting the game, quitting out, trying admin, reading comments in the Steam community, and I finally found a solution.

If this has happened to you and you have spaces in your computer's name, this is what happened.

If my computer is named, "I like dumb games", then the latest 1.0.2 patch just created a brand new file directory for you to save your games because IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE SPACES IN YOUR COMPUTER NAME. That's right. The patch created a new folder without the space in it at c:\users\ilikedumbgames\saved.

So once again, copy your recent save files from the old location and dump them in that location. Again, this only applies if your computer name has spaces.

It feels like The Chinese Room is just too small of a developer to really push out any kind of quality control with these patches and the game itself. I'm surprised they haven't abandoned the game entirely and left us holding the bag just like the first Bloodlines. But at least the first Bloodlines was easily moddable. I'm not so sure about this one.

I apologize for being negative right now. I really want Bloodlines 2 to succeed. I'm loving the story and characters. The game mechanics I'm a bit "meh" with (especially if you've seen episode 8 of my playthrough and my frustration there). I will be keeping mum in my videos about performance and bad game mechanics for now and am planning on releasing a full review of Bloodlines 2 once I've completed it.

Thank you all for sticking around and if you read this whole thing, you're the real champions!

Episode 8 for my Bloodlines 2 blind playthrough will be delayed tomorrow. I have the footage but need to heavily edit. Mainly because yours truly experienced a bout of rage due to one of the game mechanics I experienced. Still loving being a snotty Ventrue and I really bring that elite attitude in dialogue choices this time around! Stay tuned!

For Bloodlines 2, if you updated with the hotfix and were playing from admin off of the .exe file, you may notice when you play the game through the launcher that your autosave games are gone. Here's how to get your previous saved game files back. It worked for me.

Steam:

If you ran the game as admin, your savefiles will be located here:

SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Bloodlines 2\Bloodlines2\Saved\SaveGames

If you used a renaming workaround, your savefiles will be located here:

[Alternate User Name]\AppData\Local\Bloodlines 2\Steam\Save

3. Take the save files from their location and place them here under your original user account: [Main User Name]\AppData\Local\Bloodlines 2\Steam\Save
