We did it!
And we are so happy we did! 😊
We left our expensive, exhausting hustle & bustle life in the big city to be more self-sufficient in beautiful, tropical, Far North Queensland, Australia.
We have a 3.2 acre block, 40 mins from Cairns, an old 1980's house, big shed, rainwater tanks, bore water and it changed our lives!
We raise chickens for farm fresh (super) eggs🥚, guinea fowl, grow tropical herbs, vegetables and fruit trees to produce a heap of yummy, fresh, healthy food from our property.
We knew absolutely nothing about producing our own food and living this life, so we just started and learnt what we needed to along the way.
We now travel near and far, local and abroad to find fantastic things to grow in the tropics and how to eat them! 😋🤠

Bến Thành Market is a great place to buy knockoff brand handbags, wallets, shoes and clothing. We will also show you the difference between Bến Thành Market and a less touristy more local market, Tân Định Market. Tim eats durian 😂 and we try the delicious, traditional Vietnamese desert "Chè" 😋
Ans we also eat at one of our favourite restaurants in Saigon! And it is just outside Bến Thành Market!

The absolutely picturesque, mountainside village of Mae Kampong, is just a one hour drive out of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.
It is a stunningly beautiful little mountain village, filled with very authentic little local street food vendors and coffee shops.
We take a "Get Your Guide" tour with our lovely guide "Mr Kun" and explore the town of Mae Kampong, the viewpoint, the waterfall, a coffee shop with the most amazing views of the valley you've ever seen, a beautiful local restaurant for lunch, and a very interesting hot springs where we boil our own eggs 😂🥚
It was an awesome day that we highly recommend if you are visiting Chiang Mai.
