We bought Narrowboat Liberty - a 55’ 2004 narrowboat - in 2021 as our home. She represented affordable living for us.

Narrowboat Liberty is a chance to do something different while we still have the will, health and good humour to do it, plus most of our teeth. We faced the prospect of growing old as the world passed us by. That wasn’t for us! WE wanted to be the ones passing by, enjoying the scenery and history of Britain.

So, here we are, two ‘continuous cruisers’ and our coydog Tilly. This is our life, warts and all!

Just got Tilly’s portrait back from the framers today. Really happy with it! She looks like she could walk out of the painting, that’s how good the artist is (Debbie Lowrie)! This will have pride of place alongside Buster’s portrait on Narrowboat Liberty’s wall.

We’re both thrilled with our new Solovair Boots! The great service we received from Becky at H Hargreaves in Keighley prompted us to buy two more pairs - including a pair of green leather Derby boots - which we’ll collect later in May from Hargreaves! Bluebells spotted by The Anchor Inn at Salterforth today during Tilly’s first walk. Our very dear friend Anna has started to accept commissions for her superb animal portraits - dogs, cats, horses, tortoises, any creature, really!
