Today's test. FPSC English Lecturer's. a bit more difficult than yesterday..

Here's what I can recall;

-Amicable: دوستانہ
-Meticulous: بہت محتاط
-Garrulous: Antonym: taciturn
-Pithy: Synonym: brief/ concise
Prepositions;
-The child is afraid "of" the dark.
-This translation differs "from" the original/ other.
-She had not visited that village "since" 2018.
-Had I known the gate was close, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN ANOTHER PATH.
-Neither the cold nor the rain "KEEP/ KEPT" the walkers from continuing the journey (or something else to continue or finish).

-No sooner had the teacher arrived "THAN THE STUDENTS ENTERED THE CLASS."

-The reporter returned /sent the draft back so that the writer could "REVISE" a few errors.

Active/ Passive;
-The gardener has watered the plants... The plants have been watered by the gardener.
-The windows were being cleaned by Ali... Ali was cleaning the windows.

-Scarcely inversion correct sentence... Scarcely had we sat down/ started walking out... "THEN THE RAIN STARTED".
-Correct uncountable noun subject verb agreement... The information provided by the witness "was" useful.
-Each of the answers "was" correct.
- Literature and Linguistics;
-Negative Capability... poet's capability to dwell in uncertainty.
-Ice Candy Man... A child's account of Partition's violence.
-Reluctant Fundamentalist... Silent - listener monologue.
-A passage to india, Marabar Cave Episode is associated with..."limits of colonial understanding."
-In Yeat's later poetry, image of gyre:... Cyclical historical representation
- Daud Kamal's poetry is largely associated with...don't recall the MCQs.

- Diaspora in Pakistani English Literature... belonging, dislocation, alienation.
