My YouTube channel features emergency preparedness topics and related gear reviews. Since I live and work in the greater Seattle area, my focus is on “Urban” preparedness and not on Rural environment related concepts.
My goal is to provide video content that is family-friendly, entertaining and accessible to a wide audience. I work in software engineering, so many of the projects and gear testing that I upload to YouTube leverage engineering skills; planning, organization, scientific method testing and documentation. I try to treat all of my large projects or “kits” as open-source projects that viewers can leverage and customize to their own set of needs.

Hey everyone. As a lot of you know, I've been having to deal with heart related issues earlier this year and needed a heart ablation in late January. I've been feeling a lot better since having the surgery and I feel ready to start posting videos more regularly again. Thank you everyone for your patience. Looking forward to providing more emergency preparedness video content soon. Cheers!

All done! The heart ablation went well. They are discharging me right now. Just need to take it easy for the next week. Thank you EVERYONE for the prayers and support! I really appreciate it. It's great to have so many friends in the Preparedness community who care for me. See you in the next video!

Sorry for the delay in videos. I've been in and out of the hospital for the past few days. I'm currently in the ER getting checked out for the tachycardia I've been in for the past several days. As I've mentioned in the past, I'm a cancer survivor that has been in remission for the past 25+ years. The chemotherapy I received killed the cancer but also did a lot of damage to my body, including now having congestive heart failure (among other things). It's been in control for over a decade, but my ejection fraction is low again 35%, which means my heart isn't pumping enough volume of blood per pump, despite the medication. I'm working with my team of doctors to try to get things tweaked so I'm back to above 50% and hopefully my heart rate drops back down to normal. It's currently staying at 125 bpm for the past several days. On a good note, I got to use my Hospital GO Bag, which I did a video of a few years ago and my modified EDC bag. Stay safe out there, fellow Preppers!
