And another TicTock scam. I've reported it but they'll get a little advertising money from it before it's taken down. This is the word we live in. Oh I have never had a TickTock channel.

Channel members can now watch the latest video “How to put on a hat”. Oh the reason for this video is to, hopefully, teach kids. I was (yesterday) running a course with some kids and they actually didn’t know how to. It will be publicly available on Friday (01/08/25) at 4pm / 16:00 UK time.

I have a new camera. With the old one, whatever I tried I just couldn’t get the White Balance to stop changing, even when I set it to manual – so the colour of the sky/ground/etc. would continually change. The 3 videos I published yesterday were the first one’s filmed on the new camera and the WB stayed the same all the way through. So, good result.
This setup is totally waterproof, which in my working environment is important.
Insta360 Ace pro 2 (camera) + Insta360 Mic Air (microphone).
* This isn't an advert - just saying what I have.

New computer arrived today 😊 should speed up editing videos.
BX80768285K – Intel Core Ultra 9 285K (3.7–5.7 GHz)
* the (CPU) has 24 cores so it can run loads of stuff at the same time plus (5.7 GHz) it’s extremely fast.
KF556C40BBK2-64 – Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 RAM (2x32GB)
* this what you need for video editing 128GB of RAM in total, Oh and DDR5 is the latest, fastest type (but that will change within a few weeks)
4TB SSD
* I need this as some of my videos files are massive
NE75080019T2-GB2030G Palit RTX 5080 16GB graphics card (GPU)
* basically a super powerful GPU with 16GB memory which is sometimes needed for video editing
Plus loads of other geeky/nerdy stuff 😊

Channel members can now watch the latest video “THIS is how to use a Mirror Compass”. It will be publicly available on Saturday (28/06/25) at 4pm / 16:00 UK time.
As well as going through how to use them, in the video I look at one of the most common myths in navigation: mirror compasses are more accurate than a baseplate compass – how many people have you heard saying that? (spoiler alert – No, they aren’t)
