The sewing journey journeys on...my first ever sewn winter coat is complete!!!! Ready for the rest of winter hehe ; ) And sewing this coat completes my five piece winter capsule! 🤗🎉🧵🪡 Love love a big oversized coat to snuggle up in and I'm so pleased with how this first one turned out!

I have lots of thoughts on sewing a capsule wardrobe with one pattern and will be back soon with a long form video showcasing all the pieces together--as well as different ideas that have come to me during this process!

Happy (almost!) New Year!!!!! 😉 Just wanted to say thank you so much for being here and a part of this sewing and creative community! Thought I would end the year sharing the finished leopard print top--busted through some button hole/button sewing procrastination and got this baby done.

Most of all though--Wishing you a wonderful start to 2026 and second of all...can't wait to be back soon with a sewing room tour 😉 and eventually sharing a completed first ever proper longer winter coat I am sewing up as part of this capsule collection (the pic of red plaid fabric).

Thank you for your kind words and well wishes on our move! We arrived safe and sound! ❤️

Wanted to share a few pics (and the pieces that I had sewn & ended up wearing🧵 #sewinglove) from our road trip travels 😉 I will probably have some button down fatigue once this move is all said and done hehe--but these button downs have sure offered a versatile, multipurpose appeal on our travels. From battling wind, dropping temps (this cold weather is bringing me so much joy!), to tying around the waist when you need to shed a layer--glad I sewed these all up for this fall/winter season!

Quick update 🌷 I have not one...but two videos coming out this week 😃 and then I will be taking several weeks off from posting to attend to some life changes coming up!

Will be sharing more about the life update in a fun video slated to come out this Saturday but wanted to at least say hi now & give a quick update!

Hope that you are taking great care of yourself and even though I still have two videos coming out this week, I can't wait to be back in the sewing room as well as creating fun content!

Are you ready to sew up a cute fall jacket?! 🤗🎉🍁And can you tell I ❤️ plaid?! 😅

Currently putting all the finishing touches on the McCall's 8011 sew along and hope to get that out tomorrow at 9 AM PST!

In the meantime, I ended up with two different versions 😅 and here is a sneak peek of both to give you an idea of the finished outcome!

Ultimately, the orange version ended up being a successful toile lol.

Ps. I sewed this matching set up many many months ago and it has been the summer set I have worn on repeat. The blouse is a modified vintage out of print Vogue pattern and the maxi skirt was self drafted! Love an easy breezy set to just throw on and go!🧵🪡🌷

Not sewing related but a secondary passion I want to share with my fellow creatives 🌷 because I know I am not the only animal lover out here ❤️

Did you know most animal shelters have a day or overnight foster program for their doggies?! (Cats, too but I've only worked with the pups😉)!

I have never experienced such gratitude like I have from the doggies I've had the honor of hosting in my home (this one is my 6th and I'm so relieved to report that the previous five were adopted out to really nice homes!).

This weekend we hosted Bison, a husky mix, and he has been THE sweetest angel. Although most shelters Across the US offer foster programs--I can speak directly to, and know that Ventura County Animal Shelter is always looking for day or overnight fosters for their long-term large breed shelter dogs!

After losing my own 14 year-old dog angel back in November, I haven't had the emotional bandwith to adopt a new dog, but fostering has allowed me to fulfill that dog love I have.

Just putting this out here if you want a little companion for a day/overnight(s), too ❤️

Ps. Second pic: I tried teaching Bison about topstitching, but he was not impressed and promptly fell asleep hehe
