I’m a former medical doctor, TEDx speaker, author, and creator focused on identity-driven reinvention. After two decades in medicine, I saw how many people were quietly unfulfilled, stuck in lives that didn’t fit.

Now, I help ambitious people reinvent their lives from the inside out. My approach starts with identity — because lasting change doesn’t begin with what you do, but with who you believe you are.

Here, you’ll find weekly videos on reinvention, mindset, and transformation strategies to help you create a life that’s effortless, aligned, and truly yours. I’m also founder of the Wellness Coach Academy, where I train & mentor aspiring wellness entrepreneurs to build meaningful, freedom-based businesses.

If you're ready for your next chapter, you're in the right place.

Kim Foster, M.D.

I’ve been keeping something from you. While I’ve been getting ready for the TEDx release and the book launch, I’ve *also* been quietly building something new behind the scenes. And today I can finally share it:

The Next Chapter Coach is live.

It’s a daily coaching app I created together with the team at Studio for people who know something needs to change, but keep getting stuck in the loop of overthinking, waiting for clarity, and not taking consistent action.

The app gives you a personalized plan, short daily coaching, focused reflection prompts, and real-world micro-actions to help you move into your next chapter one day at a time.

This is for the person who has done enough thinking and is ready to start moving.

I've spent part of today reading the comments on my TEDx talk (which just dropped yesterday! here's where you can watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9P_i... )

But this is the part that means the most -- seeing the idea connect with people who have been trying so hard to change. That's 100% why I walked on the stage that day.

Thank you for watching. ❤️

Today, my TEDx talk officially went live on the TEDx YouTube channel — and I was thrilled to learn it was selected as an Editor’s Pick. If you’d like to watch it, you can do that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9P_i...

This talk explores an idea that has shaped the direction of my work over the past several years.

After two decades working as a physician, and now years helping people change their habits, health, careers, and lives, I kept noticing the same pattern:

People often know exactly what to do. They know the strategies. The systems. The steps.

And yet, the change often doesn’t last.

I have come to understand that it's because they’re trying to change behavior without changing identity.

In the talk, I explore why identity may be the missing layer in lasting transformation, and why so many intelligent, capable people stay stuck despite genuinely wanting change.

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts if you watch it.

My TEDx talk 🎤 just dropped on the official TEDx YouTube channel — and I’m incredibly honoured that it was selected as an Editor’s Pick.

This talk took six months of deep work, and it contains the idea I wish I’d understood years earlier about why change is so hard to make stick.

If you’ve ever felt like you “know what to do” but still can’t seem to create lasting change, this one’s for you.

It's live! Here's the official video of my TEDx talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9P_i...

This photo was taken backstage a few minutes before I walked on stage to give my TEDx talk.

What you can't see in this picture are the six months of preparation that came before it: the rewrites, the rehearsals, the moments of self-doubt, and the gradual process of becoming the person who could stand on that stage and share this idea.

Five months ago, I walked onto a TEDx stage and gave the most important talk I've ever given.

The interesting thing is that the hardest part wasn't the speaking.

It was learning to trust that my ideas were worth sharing.

The talk goes live this Friday.

Curious: what's something you've done recently that required a little more courage than people might realize?

With my TEDx talk coming out next week (finally!), I’ve been thinking about how strange public speaking is: part excitement, part vulnerability, part “why did I agree to this?”

Curious — have you ever had to give a talk or presentation that genuinely scared you?

If you could instantly upgrade ONE thing, what would it be?

I started learning golf in my 50s because I wanted a new challenge. I didn’t expect it to become one of the clearest mirrors for identity work I’ve ever found.

Golf shows you how you handle being new.
How you respond to imperfection.
How quickly you spiral.
How much you still care what other people think.
How willing you are to keep showing up before you feel fully legitimate.

In other words: it’s reinvention, with a scorecard.

And honestly? That’s why I love it.

I’m not sharing this because I’m already “good.” I’m sharing it because becoming someone new is always more interesting when you document the messy middle.

What’s something you took up as an adult that changed how you saw yourself?
