The Mahabharat gives a lot of credit to Bhishma for taking the vow and setting the wheels in motion for the battle. I think Queen Satyavati should be given more credit for it. She set the conditions for Bhishma to give up his right to the throne, and then she took matters in her own hands to bring Vyasa to carry the bloodline forward with her daughters-in-law.

I believe the Mahabharat is one of the greatest stories ever told. HOT TAKE: If the Mahabharat is given the Game of Thrones treatment (Prestige TV, high quality production) it would be the greatest television show ever made.
