Man, they say bad luck travels in threes, but the farm decided to push the envelope and give us four major breakdowns all in the same week. 😅

We just put up a new video on the channel showing the absolute chaos. I’ve spent the last couple of days tirelessly fighting a massive water problem out here, and I finally had to swallow my pride and call in a professional plumbing crew to bail me out. On top of that, the truck broke down, a supplemental freezer packed up, and we suddenly lost one of our newly purchased bred cows in the pasture.

My old EMS days taught me a lot about handling crisis fatigue, but when everything breaks at once, it really tests your patience!

Despite the stress, we still had to keep moving. The video shows some good progress using the excavator to tear down old, weed-choked fencing and clear a hillside for our future fruit orchard. Plus, I took a walk out to the garden with Saundra, where our summer onion crop is absolutely thriving—so it’s not all bad news!

Honestly, dealing with a week like this just makes you step back and appreciate all the immense blessings we have with family, the garden, and our health.

We are working on the video for tomorrow morning, and to be completely honest with you all, it’s a really tough one for us to share.

If you've been farming long enough, you know that the highest highs always come with some incredibly low lows.

Friday night I drove up to the back pasture to check cows and found one of our big, pregnant cows had passed away in the field.

Losing an animal like that is a massive blow; emotionally because you care for these creatures every single day, and financially because it takes a huge bite out of a small farm's bottom line.

Tomorrow's video shows the reality of what we had to do to handle the situation, get her buried, and keep the rest of the farm moving going.

Farming isn't always beautiful green pastures and perfect summer gardens. Sometimes it’s just plain hard.

We appreciate you guys more than you know, and we'll see you tomorrow morning at the usual time.

Hey everyone! Chuck here. 🇺🇸🌾

We are finishing up the final edits on a very special video that drops tomorrow morning, and we wanted to give you a quick sneak peek of what’s coming.

We’re splitting the action down the middle tomorrow: I’ve got Ruben riding shotgun in the truck for a feed mill run, and later on, I'm firing up the tractor to clear out the old chicken tractors and prep a brand-new section of ground next to the big garden for our future fruit trees. Meanwhile, Saundra is holding down the kitchen and baking an incredible, completely-from-scratch 5-Flavor Pound Cake that smells absolutely amazing.

But with July 4th right around the corner, I wanted to end the video with a raw, honest conversation. It’s so easy to get beaten down by the constant negativity on the news and the frustrating lack of leadership we see from politicians.

Tomorrow, I’m sharing a message about the real America—the one built by the honest, hard-working people in communities just like ours—and why we should still be incredibly proud of this country.
