*Punjab University has established the Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund (ASEF) to provide financial assistance to deserving students, helping them complete their higher education.*
During the meeting, Prof. Mahmood highlighted that alumni around the world contribute financially to their alma maters to support education and research. He noted that most PU students come from middle-class and lower-middle-class backgrounds, and the university aims to ensure that no student has to abandon their higher education due to financial difficulties.
Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Anwar added that the endowment fund will offer scholarships as well as interest-free loans (Qarz-e-Hasna) for 10 years.
