I'm gonna be real frank: Video game video essays as a vehicle for dumb jokes.

Three-thousand subs and The Longest Crashout crawled past the 100k engaged-views threshhold - outstanding! (I hate the new tiktok-style view counts.) Now the pressure's on to follow it up and g-g-g-gulp

Been pretty busy over the last few weeks and this next one's on the longer side, so right now the projection for release is October 16th. Still a little busy in the weeks ahead, so if more comes up it might get pushed further back - but it'll certainly be out before November. Actually yes, let's bump that back to the 23rd - I think I'll need another weekend to get the video finished, plus everything else.

I also plan to do a read of my favorite horror short-story of all time, which I don't exactly think anyone would be familiar with. And which I imagine most people won't actually find particularly spooky.

WELL Frankie B hit the big 1K so WELL guess that means it's time to sell out, abandon all of my beliefs, and start getting to work on constructing a funeral pyre to jump on when my salacious misdeeds (such as not using coasters) are revealed.

Here's a... conceptual preview of where the channel's going to be headed to (eventually):

- A series on political concepts and theory in video games, exploring through classics like Deus Ex what the interactivity of the medium offers to these types of narratives. Not so much actually blathering about MY POLITICS GOOD GAME GOOD BECAUSE MY POLITICS, because who cares what a fat guy on the internet thinks and I'd sooner take a bath with a toaster than become a breadtuber (my parents weren't rich enough for me to become one anyways)

- Zero-editing-effort podcast-y monologues on topics that I can't think of any dumb montages for. Something like sharing my favorite spooky short-story from a 1970s anthology, say. Stuff to pad the time between the proper releases.

- A look back at narrative classics like the original Baldur's Gates, gauging whether their narrative can still hook someone today (and if so, why-so). Except I don't think I'd even be close to getting started on this until like a year from now err

- Subliminally interspersing frame-long cuts of "TURN THAT PESKY ADBLOCK OFF" into every video

I have to imagine it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but we'll see where it all goes. I for one have vowed to concoct conspiratorial explanations for any and every unsubscribe, rather than accepting it as a fault of my own behavior and-or output. It involves a myriad web of powerful government actors, who all specifically dislike me...

Missed a video for June because I was busy grilling (it's a sacred ritual for us fence-sitters). New video up Wednesday, talking about the hottest topic of two months ago.

It seems I finally have cause to fear the malicious shadow of Al Gore's "Ithm," as my hour-long descent into madness, my Silent Hill 2make review, has had its volume of impressions completely flatline. This is great news, as it means I can at long last blame all of my personal problems and all of the issues with my content on a nefarious conspiracy concocted by shadowy techno-wizards.

I'm working on a few lower-effort videos now that No Nostalgia-Critic November has officially started up, and with this next one I plan to start keeping in better communication about the nonsense I have planned for the channel.
