Gregory B. Sadler - That Philosophy Guy

I bring philosophy into practice, making complex classic philosophical ideas accessible for a wide audience of professionals, students, and life-long learners. After a decade in traditional academic positions, I started my own business and began doing philosophical work in more practical contexts. I am an APPA-certified philosophical counselor, a public speaker, an author, an ethics trainer, and an executive coach (among other things!).

One great, overlooked existentialist thinker is Lev Shestov. If you'd like to start studying his work, I'd say All Things Are Possible is a great book to begin with. Here's a resource page with links to 15 lectures on it in video and podcast formats!

A memory from 1 year back. At that time, Almost Home had been around for around 4 years at that point and we'd passed 500 adoptions of cats and kittens. Last time I looked at our tally sign, we were past 670 adoptions! 170 more cats and kittens in their forever homes this year!

Our plans for the Stoic Heart are to address at length a question about relationships put to us by one of our paid subscribers once a week, as a perk for them. We're kicking off with a free post answering a good question raised in a recent online event

I get some excellent and thought-provoking questions in my monthly online AMA sessions. I don't always get the chance to fully think out the responses to them on my own part, so I'm revisiting some of them in Substack posts. Here's the first of those! gregorybsadler.substack.com/p/how-we-bring-past-th…

Viewers, readers, & students asked me for quite some time to provide a systematic workshop to help them in studying philosophy independently. I ran the first version of it in January, and we've got a new one scheduled for May 9! reasonio.teachable.com/p/studying-philosophy-outsi…

In our new Substack for The Stoic Heart, Andi and I plan to publish dialogues about situations and issues we went through where Stoic philosophy was helpful (or would have been). We published the first one today. Here it is! stoicheart.substack.com/p/dialogue-1-navigating-a-…
