For three years I've been trying to grow chayote. The first two years were only leaves and some flowers started to form but then the cold season hit.
This year was different. At first the plant didn't look like it was going to survive but then it took off. Early blooming and finally ... fruits.
But this brings us an other problem! How does one store/preserve chayote? Some will have to survive long enough to be planted next year. The rest can be eaten but... not chayote for breakfast, lunch and diner.
Does anyone have any tips?
