As one of Iceland’s most successful exports, singer-songwriter Ásgeir has always pushed the boundaries of his thoughtful brand of folk-pop. His debut album, ‘Dýrð í dauðaþögn’, became the best-selling debut in Icelandic history, leading to the English-language version ‘In The Silence’ in 2014. He continued to refine his sound with ‘Afterglow’ in 2017, ‘Bury The Moon’ in 2020, and ‘Time On My Hands’ in 2022’, earning praise from press and radio worldwide, including the likes of The Independent, MOJO, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, BBC 6 Music and Radio X.

The official music video for “Pictures” was shot across two locations, both not far from Reykjavik. On Day 2, we were shooting in the middle of a snowstorm, which added a perfect highlight to the natural beauty of the Icelandic landscape.

‘Bury The Moon’ is now streaming everywhere!
The album begins with escape, as I left Reykjavik to go write at a friend’s summerhouse, I went with just a guitar and piano for a reason. I wanted to take the music back to its roots, in a way, and make it more about honesty. It would just be what the songs were and nothing more than that.
