Kickstart your Arabic learning this academic year through this eight-week course to help you master the art of conjugating Arabic verbs.
Who is it for?
This programme is for adults who can read and write Arabic and have an elementary understanding of basic Arabic grammar.
What variety of Arabic will be taught?
The course teaches Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), which is the form of Arabic used throughout the Middle East in the news and print media, educational institutions, and international relations.
When does it take place?
Lessons start on Sunday, September 21, 2025, subject to sufficient interest, and the course lasts for eight weeks. Each lesson is two hours long (sixteen hours in total). You can register either for the 10 a.m. to 12 noon session or the 5 to 7 p.m. evening session. Times shown are in BST (London U.K. time).
How is the course taught?
The course will be delivered via Zoom. Handouts will be provided electronically in PDF format as needed during the course.
What are the course objectives?
By the end of the course, it is expected that students will be able to conjugate regular Arabic verbs from Form I to Form X. The conjugation of key irregular verbs will also be covered, including hamzated verbs; doubled-root-letter verbs; verbs with a weak first letter; hollow verbs; split adjacent and split complex verbs. The jussive and subjunctive moods will also be explained. Throughout the course, the verbs taught will be employed in illustrative, meaningful sentences.

The entire course costs GBP 80.00.
