There is no line so razor thin than that between Faith and Fear. So often we dance between the two, believing the gap is just wide enough to accommodate our rebellious hearts, without quite condemning them. To let us run just far enough from God to feed our flesh, while still living comfortably beneath the shelter of His wings... and we can't seem to discover why we remain crippled by anxiety.

Just as Darkness unto itself is nothing, simply the absence of light. So the same, Fear unto itself is nothing, simply the absence of Faith. Without Light, the house sits in Darkness. Without Faith, the soul sits in Fear. Yet we live captive to that which does not exist simply because we refuse to take hold of that which we cannot see. And in turn, both Fear and Darkness, which we also cannot see, grip us tighter than the hands of hell, and their hold is one that few escape.

Oh to be free from that which does not exist, and embraced by that which matters. To step out onto the water knowing, we don't have to sink. Yet walk boldly on the waves reminded that the second we take our eyes off Jesus, Fear and uncertainty are all we have left. And no man, no matter his stature or strength once the storms rise, will dance between the chasm of Faith and Fear. Rather he will become a slave to one or the other.

For the longest time, every voice around me said this dream was impossible. Ridiculous. Crazy… If I would’ve listened to just one of those voices, my entire world would be different.

I would’ve stayed trapped in the box, starving the fire inside. Carving out years of my life for crumbs that fall from another man’s table each week. Until eventually, so much sand had slipped through the hourglass that it was too late to dream.

There’s still days I get discouraged, days I feel like giving up, days I beat myself up for not having done more or worked harder. I don’t think any amount of success will ever change that. You come to realize, it’s not about what you’ve accomplish, but how relentless you are in chasing it.

In the end, there’s no destination this side of heaven. No trophy room on earth big enough for any dreamer. It’s just the journey. The journey is the dream. And if you let the world talk you out of it, you spend a lifetime in the box, where no amount of crumbs will ever taste as good as the dream.
