Jayaraj Annapackiam College for Women (Autonomous)

Jayaraj Annapackiam College for Women, a synonym for sterling service in Higher Education of women and a household name in Periyakulam Educational District was established on 5th July, 1971. It has been managed by the Sisters of St. Anne of Tiruchirapalli. Imparting Higher Education to the rural women, i.e. economically, educationally, socially and culturally backward. It was a glorious dream jointly dreamt and fulfilled by the efforts of Mother Lucy Crescentia Mary, the then Mother General of St. Anne’s Congregation, Tiruchirapalli, and the philanthropist of the illustrious family of Mr. Jayaraj Chellathurai. It is named after his parents Mr. Jayaraj and Mrs. Annapackiam. It has been the locus of Women’s Higher Education and affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University till October, 2002 and since then has been affiliated to Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal.
