Some facts and back story of Ishiki Hoshina:

1.) Ishiki’s the second oldest of Muzan’s 5 Hanyo (Half human/half demon) daughters at 19 years old during the main series (Juyo’s the oldest at 20 years old).

2.) She’s the only daughter to not be raised in the infinity castle and not by muzan and the other demons due to muzan making Nakime send her to the human world as a baby due to her appearance reminding him of his past and her seemingly having no powers. She was found and adopted by a head Shinto priest and his wife, who believes that the gods have blessed them with the baby, viewing her white hair, eyes, and later on strange powers as proof, and named her Ishiki.

3.) Ishiki’s first words are that of random sentences she read on people’s minds and memories, luckily the head priest and his wife and teachers did advise and taught Ishiki to not say random things at random times and without proof, and when to say something, so Ishiki’s able to avoid being seen as a monster by being careful about what she says and when she says it and back it up with proof.

4.) Ishiki often reads people’s minds and memories to decide what to say, what charms to give, and be able to correctly offer fortunes. She even used that power to get answers and truths out of people depending on the situation, though Ishiki doesn’t let people know that she’s reading minds and memories. Which sadly has ruined surprises before and has to act surprised sometimes.

5.) though sometimes if the memory or mind gets too much for any reason, Ishiki needed to take a break in order to not break down and get traumatized by what she’s seen and read

6.) Though Ishiki does have the bad habit of snooping her mind into other people’s minds sometimes, which sometimes made her misunderstood and almost do something reckless that’ll lead to disaster, and get anxious or excited over nothing. Though she kept her adopted parents and teachers’s advice mentioned above in mind, and thus is able to clear misunderstandings in her mind before something happened, much to her embarrassment

7.) Due to not being raised in the infinity castle, raised by loving parents and mentors, as well as her blood demon art of reading minds and memories and thus being able to understand them, made Ishiki the kindest of the 5 Hanyo sisters, though her times of having put info together and having to think about what to say also made her the calmest and most observant.

8.) Ishiki was friends with Gyutaro, who would sometimes visit her whenever Daki’s occupied and he’s not needed, and when Ishiki’s in town in a cloak that disguises his demon features (cause the temple has wisteria and charms), he would help her with some errands, catch up (albeit he leaves out the killings and being responsible for the disappearances, forgetting that Ishiki will find out anyway) and give her gifts (that is usually jewelry and accessories that Daki threw away, though he does make sure to wash them before hand). Though does understand that Ishiki can’t exactly wear them when on duty due to being a shrine maiden, and thus does try to give Ishiki less flashy gifts such as the hair pin that Ishiki’s wearing in the picture.

9.)In turn Ishiki would be there to listen to him vent out his emotions, talk about his sister, and comfort him when he’s upset, even have him advice (that doesn’t involve harming people and themselves of course). Though she would like him and Daki to stop killing people and leave the entertainment district, but reluctantly accepts that they’re not leaving, and they can’t exactly disobey their boss, cause Daki likes Muzan and the siblings would get into trouble for disobedience. Ishiki has tried to give Gyutaro a present for him and Daki (she’s just being nice and felt sorry for them both), but Gyutaro only accepts the gift for Daki.

10.) Contrary to some of the fellow Shinto and shrine maidens beliefs, Ishiki and her mysterious friend (they don’t know he’s actually a demon named Gyutaro) are just friends, Gyutaro only saw her as a sister due to Ishiki reminding him of when Daki was human due to ishiki’s long white hair, pale skin, and her purple eye is almost blue like ume’s. And Ishiki doesn’t have anyone in mind in terms of a future romance (until a certain someone arrived)

11.) When the unconscious and just finished getting organs replaced but eye couldn’t be fixed (due to timing) and recovering from surgery body of Kyojuro arrived at the temple, at first Iskiki saw him as an innocent person who needed care, but after reading his memories, and seeing the honorable, amiable, optimistic, and pure of heart man he is, she ended up becoming the shrine maiden that checks on him and looks after him the most, even when off duty.

12.) Ishiki would sometimes get teased by fellow shrine maidens and even the caretaker and adopted parents for her devotion to looking after Kyojuro and praying for him to wake up more than everyone else. Ishiki’s youngest biological sister, Kagura, even made a Japanese, gender bent version of sleeping beauty doll figure set, with Ishiki as the one to wake up sleeping beauty (or handsome in this case), who is played by the Kyojuro doll. Needless to say, Ishiki’s embarrassed.

13.) Sometimes when Ishiki gets overwhelmed or frightened or traumatized by what she’s seen, Ishiki would head to the room Rengoku’s recovering in, and read his memories, and hearing his encouraging and kind words to others would calm her down and help her feel better

14.) Other than reading Kyojuro’s mind, Ishiki also calms down by having tea and sweets, pick flowers and make flower crowns, collect gem stones, craft and paint lanterns, make candles, reading books, and talking to loved ones.

15.) As much as Ishiki loves Rengoku, she does get annoyed whenever he would say umai after every single bite, but tries to be polite about it.

16.) For the most part, Ishiki wasn’t aware of the fact that she’s a Hanyo, Muzan’s her biological dad, and that the 3 strange girls who are sisters are also her sisters. She does found out eventually when Tsuyo told her. Ishiki doesn’t let it get to her though.

17.) when Rengoku wakes up from a coma after the series, he knew that ishiki’s snooping through his thoughts and forgave her for it, just asked that she not do that without permission or if she really needed too.

18.) Out of gratitude for the temple for looking after him while he’s in a coma, he would visit whenever he could, and donate, even volunteer, which allows him and ishiki to get closer. He even found out about who and what ishiki actually is, but kept it a secret. He even found out about her friendship with the now dead for a long time now Gyutaro, and doesn’t get upset with her for that, and just listened as Ishiki talks about their friendship and offers his shoulder to cry on when Ishiki cried.

19.) Ishiki gets along most with Juyo due to their similar calmness and willingness to do morally grey things for the sake of others. Ishiki would even pray to god that Juyo would be spared and forgiven for literally bringing people back from the dead by turning them into half demons. Not to say Ishiki doesn’t get along with the other 3 sisters, She does care for Tsuyo and lets her vent out her frustrations and comfort her, and she loves and dotes on Kagura

20.) Ishiki would sometimes wonder what’ll be like if she met Daki, though understands that for her safety that may not be a good idea, and all she can do is pray that Daki and Gyutaro get reincarnated into better lives.

21.) although Ishiki is the kindest of the 5 Hanyo sisters, her demon side does still act up from time to time when it comes to dealing with people that she doesn’t because they do something wrong, and took advantage of the fact that people knew that she’s not really a liar, and just says what the person did out-loud and watched the person’s reactions, all with a small smirk and a darkened face. And if they try to lay a hand on her, she’d warn them what’ll happen, also with a darkened face.

22.) After her marriage to Kyojuro (when Ishiki’s in her mid twenties) she retired from being a shrine maiden, but Kyojuro bought a new home and renovated it into a branch of the Rengoku estate so that Ishiki could still be close to the shrine and visit her family whenever she wants while keeping the original Rengoku’s estate intact for his father.

23.) Ishiki and Kyojuro eventually have 3 kids, and the pair have a very long and happy marriage with Kyojuro still being able to look after his family as well as Ishiki’s and Ishiki still being able to informally help out with the shrine during big ceremonies.

24.) Ishiki also grows a close friendship with Mitsuri thanks to their fiancé’s turned husbands being friends (and probably grew up together or something?)

25.) After Muzan’s death, Ishiki (and her sisters’) red eyes turned pink, and everyone has mellowed out.

(Tap or click for full view) (btw I can’t decide on the color of Ishiki’s hair pin and the white irises are supposed to be like flower petals that are a bit sharper, and I think I might’ve screwed up on the eyes a bit cause I was trying to draw in the demon slayer art style on the eyes, so do whatever you want with the black irises 😅 also sorry for the zigzagging on some parts of the picture, also her skin’s not that pale)

A sketch of Yoru’s hair, and the orange is supposed to be fiery red, and the eyes are supposed to be auroral colored like Silver’s eyes. Also I was experimenting with the markers, so the dark blue is only on the braids and back hair, not on the front bangs

And I was having dessert a few nights ago and accidentally dropped some of the cake and ice cream on the paper and tried to wipe them off, in case you’re wondering what’s up with the brown smudges.

I have tried to get the glorious masquerade ssr cards but failed to get them, then I haven’t pulled for any event cards, but when I decided to pull for New Years Sebek since I don’t have an ssr card for Sebek, I somehow got him on the first pull! O_O first anniversary Grim, and now New Years Sebek!
