Found this picture on my phone, and figured I’d share it! This is from when I was reading Midnight’s Children. If you’re interested in what Salman Rushdie’s writing style is like, here’s a sample! I adored this book. It has a way of taking the real world and tilting it slightly, so you, the reader, get to experience reality in a new way. Just sensational!

So, as we head towards the end of the year, I find myself revisiting my plans for this channel going forward.
I really enjoy making videos, here, but the time commitment is just a bit more than is feasible for me at present. Now, I don’t want to delete the channel and run away, or anything. This has always been a fun side hobby rather than any kind of full time commitment, and I’d like to keep it that way.
So, I’m considering playing around with the format, a bit. So expect some shorter videos, and more of a focus on book reviews. I may also go back to doing shorts when I finish a book.
I want to keep this something I enjoy doing that doesn’t eat up an entire day. So we’ll see how things go! See you tomorrow, and happy reading!

So, normally I post my new videos on Monday morning, but I’m trying something different and am going to post them once I finish editing them, which would be Sunday evenings. We’ll see how it goes!

Howdy! Just giving a heads up that next week’s Lit 101 video will be the first in a two part video series discussing and analyzing that classic Christmas epic poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (yes, it’s a Christmas story! It also has one of the coolest beheadings in literature).
So with that said, if you want to read it ahead of time, here is an open source (legal) translation of the poem (into a more readable prose style) if you are interested: www.yorku.ca/inpar/sggk_neilson.pdf
There are also very cool poetry translations available, including one by J. R. R. Tolkien, out in the world. See you next Monday!

I’ve been wanting to address this, but I never knew how to handle it, and this video does such a beautiful job of looking at the allegations fairly and with nuance. Definitely check this out.

Just finished this one. A fun spy thriller with a great central duo of characters. Review to come in my month-end wrap up.
