Hello, good morning & happy Monday. It may not be so happy for Patriots fans but it is what it is so congrats to the Seahawks & yes that hurt just a little bit to say… lol.

The snow may be pretty to look at but truth be told… I’m over it. Frigid temps & storm after storm and yet more on the way 😫 there’s just no where to put it at this point and it has put the squash on getting out there as much as I’d like. Regardless of weather, I’m determined to get out there.

Join me on Sunday for something outdoors, heck idk anymore but we’re going somewhere FFS! 😂

Happy February! Another month closer to Spring 😃 Im getting out for another hike in a less snow engulfed area. In the meantime, please enjoy a few random photos from a recent walk around another dead & dying mall.

It was eerie to walk around and see just how many stores and eateries are no longer. Minimal businesses still barely surviving amongst the vacant and gated stores. The Emerald Square Mall in N. Attleboro looks as if it's in its final chapters with a ghost town feel and broken escalators.
Opening date: August 10, 1989

A once thriving mall it has experienced major vacancies due to online shopping, shifting retail trends and management issues. Past storms have led to major roof leaks and closures. Repairs were made only to be leaking again with buckets lining the floors. New ownership promises change but as of today, it’s just a shell of its former glory days.

Hope you’re all staying safe, it’s pretty treacherous to walk, drive and the temps are dangerously cold.

Was out yesterday before today’s snowstorm hits (it’s coming down now) and visited a few favorite spots.

Medfield State Hospital grounds which opened in 1896 as the first cottage style living plan. Closed in 2003 due to deinstitutionalized facilities.

The Star Drive In with its retro car hop style eatery. They opened in 1964 any may close forever in March due to lease issues and septic tank problems.

Lastly, I went to visit the Borden sisters in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River. Yes, Lizzie Borden. The cemetery is beautiful with lots of notable people. It was a balmy 7 degrees but it was perfectly absent of people 🖤

Winter in full effect! 10 degrees Fahrenheit, -12 C.
Got close to 7 inches of snow so I had to go. The fact that I couldn’t feel my face was irrelevant 😅

Late to the winter camping party but join me on Sunday for the 1st camp of 2026! Camping mid January proved to be a windy & chilly experience. I’ll be in my all time favorite shelter as well and we cook over the fire 🔥
