What does (pre)colonial heritage mean in today’s world? Beyond Walls explores this question through heritage projects, public programs, contemporary art & visual storytelling.
Beyond Walls is a platform of independent (cultural) professionals, scholars, artists and visual storytellers. We develop and curate through a diasporic lens, work independently and in collaboration with a diversity of partners. In our projects we highlight the connection between personal stories and global context. Involving the impact of colonialism and overarching present-day issues like racism, identity and belonging.
Our mission is to contribute to decolonial futures by initiating and curating projects that raise awareness, spark critical conversation and co-creation. Beyond the walls of museums, institutions and our own frames. Team: Suzanne Rastovac (co-founder, curator) Jeremy Flohr (co-founder, visual storyteller), Armando Ello (photographer, filmmaker), Glenda Pattipeilohy (event producer, educator).
