The castle build is about to get a LOT more complicated...
I've already made a working portcullis, but now I want to take it to the next level by designing a fully functional medieval gatehouse with a working drawbridge and hidden portcullis mechanism.
The big question is...
Should I try to make it historically accurate using medieval-style engineering?
Option 1: Authentic medieval mechanism
A pulley, rope and counterweight system like a real castle may have used.
OR...
Option 2: Modern engineering
A rack and pinion gear system for smoother, more reliable movement.
Which would you rather see?
