Does your toddler scream "MINE!" the second someone touches a toy they aren't even playing with? π€π
It can feel incredibly selfish, but new research suggests something much more interesting is happening. In my latest video, I dive into a 2025 study that shows toddlers as young as 18 months are already developing a complex sense of fairness.
When they shout "Mine," they aren't just being difficultβthey are trying to navigate the rules of ownership and predictability.
In this video, I share: β Why "Mine" is actually early fairness language. β What a 2025 study reveals about toddlers in preschool vs. home. β How to respond without shaming your child for "being selfish."
What is the one thing your toddler is most possessive over right now? Let's compare stories in the comments! π

"Will speaking two languages confuse my toddler?" π€
It's one of the most common questions I get from bilingual families. Many parents worry that "code-switching" (mixing languages) is a sign of confusion or a delay.
But the latest research tells a very different story! π§ β¨ In my video, I break down what is actually happening in a bilingual toddler's brain and why those "mixed sentences" are actually a sign of high-level cognitive skill.
Are you raising a bilingual toddler? Which languages are you speaking at home? ππ

Want to end the bedtime battle tonight? Try this simple phrase. π
Often, toddlers just need a clear and safe "anchor" to help them transition from the excitement of the day to the quiet of the night. Instead of negotiating over "one more glass of water," try using this consistent closing phrase:
π "I love you, it is time for sleep now, and I will see you in the morning."
Why this works:
Connection: You reaffirm your bond right before separation.
Boundaries: You clearly state that the day is over (no room for negotiation).
Safety: You reassure them that the separation is only temporary.
In my video Stop the Bedtime Battle: 5 Research-Based Tips, I dive deeper into why predictability is the ultimate key to a peaceful evening.
