Birria spice Mix

- [ ] 8 chile guajillos
- [ ] 2 chile puya
- [ ] 2 chile ancho
- [ ] 1/2 tsp thyme
- [ ] 1/2 tsp Mexican oregano
- [ ] 2 cloves
- [ ] 1/4 Ceylon cinnamon stick (canela)
- [ ] 3 tsp onion powder
- [ ] 3 tsp garlic powder
- [ ] 2tsp cumin
- [ ] 1 tsp black pepper
- [ ] 3 bay leaves
⭐️ Add 6 Chile de arbol for a bit spicier birria

Directions:
🤍With a damp paper towel wipe off each pepper.
🤍Remove the stems and seeds.
🤍Cut into pieces.
🤍Grind into a fine powder using a coffee/ spice grinder.
❤️Grind the bay leaves, cinnamon stick, & cloves.
❤️Pour chili and spice powder into a container along with herbs, ground cumin, garlic and onion powder. Mix well.
❤️Keep in airtight container.


To make Birria
⭐️ 3lbs beef, lamb,or goat.
⭐️ 2 tomatoes
⭐️ 1cup water
⭐️ 1 batch of Birria Spice Mix

1. Cut your meat into large chunks and sear them.
2. Place them into a crockpot
3. Cut two tomatoes into large chunks and add into the pot.
4. Add water & Birria spice mix and mix well.
5. Cover with lid and cook on high for six hours or low for 8 to 10 hours.

✨Recipe makes 1 batch (3lbs of Birria)
