Our chairman, carrying the Live Great Foundation flag, has officially reached the base camp of Mera Peak — the first of three mighty summits he's climbing to raise support for climate action and children’s education in Kenya and Nepal . 💚📚

Amid the crisp air and towering snow peaks, he encountered a quote from a fellow trekker at camp:
'keep clean the NATURE save the Himalaya

we realize—nature doesn’t need us. But we need nature to live, to breathe, to hope.”
That wisdom hit deep.

From the slopes of the world’s tallest ranges, we’re reminded of our mission:

To build a cleaner Kijiji, empower climate leaders, and upcycle waste into something beautiful. ♻️🌱

LiveGreat Foundation has been hosting a series of transformative consortiums, empowering the youth and grassroots leaders of Kibra with critical tools to tackle climate change, leadership, and policy advocacy. These gatherings have sparked bold conversations and inspired action—but they also beg a larger question:

What does true leadership for sustainable development look like?

As we work tirelessly to see a thriving Kibra, we’re reminded of the immense potential of locally-led initiatives. At our last consortium, young leaders debated issues from climate resilience to economic opportunities for informal settlements. It was clear: the solutions for Kibra must come from within—but with the right partnerships and leadership to amplify our voices.

This brings us to Raila Odinga, a figure synonymous with Kibra’s resilience and a champion of marginalized communities. With his bid for the African Union Chairmanship, Raila’s vision for Pan-African unity is—grassroots empowerment, inclusivity, and sustainability.

But here’s the challenge:
1.Will leaders like Raila help translate continental policies into tangible benefits for communities like Kibra?

2.Are we, as citizens, prepared to hold leaders accountable for the promises they make to uplift informal settlements across Africa?
