This is the post I never, ever wanted to write and I feel sick to my stomach. My heart, my soul, my best friend Jade, likely has bone cancer. The vet was extremely concerned after her radiographs this morning. I’m completely heartbroken. I’m scared. I feel like the ground has been ripped out from under me.

She is my everything. The one who’s gotten me through the darkest days, the brightest light in my life. And I know so many of you love her too.

We’re being referred to a specialist now and just waiting for next steps. Everything feels heavy and uncertain, but right now, I’m just trying to breathe and hold her close.

Please keep us in your thoughts as we start this impossible journey. We need all the love we can get. 😭

Jade Update: I found a big hard lump on Jades paw last night. She’s been limping lately and I chalked it up to arthritis because she’s an active 8 year old dog but now I’m worried the lump is what’s actually causing her limp. I did the worst thing possible and googled for hours last night and I’m so afraid that it’s osteosarcoma (bone cancer) obviously this is worst case scenario and I’m crazy to let my mind go there but I’m just praying so hard it’s not 😭 I do her nails each week and wipe their paws when they come in from outside and I’ve not noticed this lump until now. I’m a bit of a wreck but staying positive until we know more for sure.

She was supposed to have bloodwork today for her surgery next week to have the small lump on her hip removed but now we have to hit pause to figure this new lump out. I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow morning, then we’ll see where to go from here.

To find 2 new lumps in a 2 week span on my previously perfectly healthy heart dog is obviously devastating. I know you guys care about the dogs so much so I want to keep you in the loop on what’s going on, even if it hurts me. I’m going to avoid the urge to hermit and hide from the entire world which is what I like to do when times get tough. I don’t know what else to say for now but I better go feed the dogs breakfast, they’re giving me heck stares. lol.
