Gumru Sharifova – Clinical Psychologist

I began my journey in psychology in Istanbul and continued my education at two of the world’s prestigious Russell Group universities, Southampton and Cardiff, where I completed my master’s degrees in clinical psychology and psychiatry.

Upon returning to Azerbaijan, my mission became clear: to contribute to the development of psychology on scientific and ethical foundations. In line with this vision, I authored the country’s first “Ethical Code” book and founded the “Ruh Sağlığı” (Mental Health) program as a public education platform.

Through this program, I bring world-renowned scholars from leading institutions such as Harvard, King’s College London, and CERN to Azerbaijani audiences in Turkish. My goal is to make scientific psychology accessible to everyone and to leave future generations with a healthier and more conscious society.
