while slowly tearing you apart
turning every little wound

They build you up with pretty words
make you feel like you belong
then tear apart your confidence
and leave you feeling wrong

They spin your mind in circles
til you don’t know left from right
have you blaming yourself
every single lonely night

Then when you finally break down
and fall flat on the ground
they reach their hand out laughing
while you’re barely hanging on

And somehow you’re the problem
you’re the one they always blame
while they walk around untouched
never feeling any shame

Some people love the chaos
they love watching people fall
they pull you close just long enough
to make you lose it all

And maybe that’s the hardest part
you cared with something real
while they treated your broken heart
like something they could steal
