Hello! I'm Ollie, a doctor working in the NHS in England. Come here for advice on med school interviews, tutorials and video diaries covering my career in medicine.
Back to roots with some ECG teaching. This is the way I generally want the channel to go - a home for education above much else. Tricky element is the time it takes to edit - circa 100K will be looking into hiring an editor most likely.
As you'll have seen, I'm using Shorts to address common questions I get asked! And response has been great - thanks so much for watching them. I love thinking about them so please let me know any you'd like to see tackled!
With regards my previous post about potentially starting a new channel for videography/camera/filmmaking content - new channel, or playlist on existing channel, with the caveat that your subscription feeds might get cluttered?
Hi YouTube community! With the advent of a change in role and a bit more time on my hands, I want to try and share some of the knowledge I've picked up on videography and photography over the years in the hopes of helping other people get to grips with these tools and make their own stuff, as well as access this amazing hobby in a fun and engaging way. This is potentially going to be a large number of videos covering camera basics, lighting, audio, composition, vintage lenses and editing your videos. I'm at a crossroads where I'm not sure if my current medical channel is the place to put this, or in a brand new channel catering to a slightly different crowd. What I don't want to do is clutter up your feeds with stuff that's not interesting or helpful - so let me know what you think!
Hello everyone! I'm back - and I haven't uploaded anything for 100 days on this channel. I'm a firm believer in being where you need to be at any given time, and for me that has meant family and clinical work. I'm a doctor first and a content creator second.
I was worried however that uploading a new video out of the blue wouldn't land well, given my lack of posts, and that anything would be swept away by the algorithm. This concern was for nothing however, as we've closed in on 10,000 views in just a couple of days, with tons of interesting and insightful comments. No worries here, and lovely to be back. I finish my current job in just a few weeks, and busily trying to wrap everything up before moving on to the next chapter.
Thanks all for the amazing response to my video looking at how pulse oximeters work! I love science communication and it was a nice chance to make something a bit different - are there any medical tests or devices you'd like me to explain from a doctor's perspective?
Changing up the background a little bit for these next few videos. Absolutely in love with my new lens, I've switched from the fairly uninspiring kit lens for my Lumix GH4 to the much-beloved Sigma 18-35 f1.8 - sharp as a tack and much better low light performance, can't wait to get to grips with it!
