Our Lister works train, Arthur, is one of Lappa Valley’s true unsung heroes. Most days, he’s quietly working away behind the scenes, helping to haul maintenance wagons around the track and keeping things moving.
But this weekend, Arthur gets his moment.
At 9:20am on Saturday, he’ll open our Grand Gala with his very own non-stop passenger service — a rare chance for visitors to ride behind a little engine that has played such a big part in life at Lappa Valley. He’ll also be joining the grand finale on Sunday afternoon, standing proudly alongside the rest of the fleet.
The weather is looking great for a weekend of steam, smiles and special memories. We’d love for you to join us — pre-booking is highly recommended.
Mr Hallworth and Spirit of Adventure have landed after their long journey from The Perrygrove Railway Adventure, and are now being prepared for their big grand gala appearances this weekend. This is the first time working visiting locomotives have ever been on our main railway.

We've had lots of people asking where City of Derby has disappeared to. Well it's currently in the Benny Halt Locomotive Shed - and we're taking the opportunity to give it some TLC before the season starts.
City of Derby is one of the two main diesel locomotives which operate on our Main Railway. It works very hard throughout the year pulling very heavy trains, which means we need to make sure everything is working as well as it can.
Jason has stripped out quite a bit of the engine bay, and is working on a wide range of things including the mechanical, traction and cooling systems.
The good news is that City of Derby will be back in service before the Summer Holidays. In the meantime, City of Truro is covering all the diesel work!

We've had lots of people asking where City of Derby has disappeared to.
